A record-setting deluge of Primary Day voter complaints led Tuesday to the angry promise of a full-scale investigation into the citys long-bumbling Board of Elections.
The flood of gripes, running the gamut from locked doors to botched voter rolls, led irate city Controller Scott Stringer to announce an immediate probe of an incompetent agency.
Unfortunately in New York City, this is nothing new, Stringer told a news conference some 10 hours after the polls opened or didnt at 6 a.m. The next president of the United States could very easily be decided tonight.
And yet the incompetence of the Board of Elections puts a cloud over these results. Its time we clean up this mess.

I don't think this affected the GOP side because the irregularities were in heavily pro-Sanders areas - in other words it was designed to help Clinton against Sanders.

These are journalist Michael Tracey’s tweets:
I’m at the BK Board of Elections — elderly lady who’s been an active Dem since 1976 was inexplicably purged from voter rolls. Judge shocked Michael Tracey (@mtracey) April 19, 2016
Another example in Brooklyn: woman registered as Dem since 2004, who voted as recently as 2012, purged from voter rolls as “inactive” Michael Tracey (@mtracey) April 19, 2016
Brooklyn resident and Bernie supporter spent several hours today trying to vote and was blocked. Well done NY. pic.twitter.com/vuM7O77Qxe Michael Tracey (@mtracey) April 19, 2016
Just watched an intended Bernie voter turned away at BK polling site. Says he registered two months ago, but nothing on file. Same old story Michael Tracey (@mtracey) April 19, 2016
Stopped by Stat. Island BoE. The # of hoops you have to jump through to obtain a court order to vote is nuts. Only a few have done so today. Michael Tracey (@mtracey) April 19, 2016
The Upper Eastside has always been bad. Once my registration card was missing from that huge book the old ladies are in charge of and I had to fill out an absentee ballot. It didn’t give me much hope that my vote counted because the floor was awash with discarded absentee ballots...
We are talking about NYC, right??
That place is so full of fraud. I suspect it will be the crooks investigating the crook. And money talks!!
