"Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis said that a 2005 federal law protecting gun-makers from lawsuits does not prevent lawyers for the victims' families from arguing that the semi-automatic rifle is a military weapon and should not have been sold to civilians."

No, this is exactly the kind of litigation the law was designed to prevent. This ruling will be reversed on appeal.

What a ridiculous ruling. It was the state that gave the gun maker authorization to sell to civilians. That should make it exempt. You cannot ask a jury to second guess congress or the legislature - if you can do it for guns, you can do it for anything.

The “Law” is whatever the SCOTUS says it is. If they rule that the gun manufacturers and legal gun sellers can be held liable they will be.

The Second Amendment affirms the right to own military weapons. That is the meaning of “arms”.

She was appointed by Gov. John Rowland, a twice convicted felon who resigned office under threat of impeachment.

LOL

In terms of an action what would you call it? Arm action? Stick action?

“Lanza, 20, killed 20 first-grade students and six educators ...”

So, they admit, some person actually did the killing with an inanimate object?

So, let’s sue Ford, GM and Chevy...
