Deep red states will vote red regardless of the nominee. Deep blue states will vote blue regardless of the nominee.

As always it will come down to the battleground states. The most likely four of those to turn red are OH, FL, VA, and NV. All four must be flipped to get to 270. Cruz came in third in all four. He doesn’t have crossover appeal, and after a contested convention will not be able to hold on to entire Rep. base in those states, which consist mainly of Trump voters, and in the case of OH, Kasich and Trump voters.

Trump will put MI and PA into play, and will make the Dems spend time and money in NY and NJ, time and money that then won’t be available to spend in the battleground states.

And after recent events in CO, Trump has a shot at taking it, too.

Rove just came to the realization that he is going to quickly be on the outside and not be able to buy food to stuff in his doughnut hole.... Just another suck-up opportunist...

Yep. This is it.

These donor-wranglers make a living skimming off the top and getting kickbacks from media outlets.

That said, I'm not gonna turn my nose up at anyone aiming their fire at Hillary Clinton.

Agree. Stories like this tell me TPTB know Cruz’ goose is cooked - Trump is the de facto nominee. With the recent Trump hires (to include Walker’s former campaign manager), Trump has made some moves at reconciliation.

Also, could be that Trump is thinking of a Trump/Walker ticket. I could live with that.

What if by Trump going somewhat establishment for a VP (Walker or Rubio), he does something the GOPe likes, which is to put the final nail in Cruz’ political career?

They didn’t like him burying Bush, but if he buries Cruz, takes a Walker or Rubio as VP and then does his Trump thing to bury Clinton, methinks the GOPe receives enough benefit to be happy.

In addition, if Trump continues self-funding and makes efforts to fundraise for downticket GOPers, a lot of bad blood and hurt feelings get assuaged.

It means that Rove wants to keep his high-paying clients by telling them the truth about Trump’s electability.

Now, put your fingers in your ears, rock back and forth, and repeat to yourself -- "Trump is anti-establishment. Trump is anti-establishment. Trump is anti-establishment."

At some point it's going to dawn on you rubes that you've been had. Pray it's before Trump reaches 1,237.

Rove reminds me of Alfrid Lickspittle, the sleazy toady from the three-part "The Hobbit" movie series.

If you saw the final movie, Lickspittle escaped the city under siege by dressing as a woman and stuffing purloined gold coins in his corset...

(NOTE: The Blue Ray had a little vignette that showed an appropriate end for him)

If I were a black I honestly would be offended by her negro dialect she pulls out when talking to blacks.

Rove is warming to Trump, not vice versa.

Warming, if you happened to read the article, means that he’s telling clients that Trump can beat Hillary.

And women should be offended by the constant use of the vajayjay card. Smart women don’t fall for identity politics.

Speaking of smart women, my daughter puts it best, “Her campaign slogan should be ‘Vote for me, I have a V.””

I guess that makes Trump GOPe.

Try to think. Rove, sleazy mercenary that he is, sees the way things are going and is cozying up to what he perceives to be the winner.

After all, he may be a scumbag corporatist, but he knows what will happen to his consulting paychecks should Trump win it all.

That's one take on his motivation. Has absolutely nothing to do with Trump...

Or, you could stay in your echo chamber and believe that Trump is GOPe now, and Junior Senator Cruz will conquer the GOP machine...

That says it all, and yes your daughter is indeed amongst the smart and strong women. That indicates her parents raised her correctly, and even the schools couldn't subvert her. Kudos to you and yours.

Any Cruz Bots have him winning anywhere else? It’s electoral Votes not Delegates

Yep. Look at the 20 richest EV states. Cruz has won Texas and Wisconsin. That’s it. In another couple weeks Trump will have won 12 of them. There is only one viable candidate and it is Donald Trump.

It's hardly any worse than Cruz cozying up to Neil Bush of Silverado S&L, who by all rights ought to have had a stint in Federal Prison rather than having been rewarded by the taxpayers.

In the end, Rove will back whoever his masters in the Bush clan endorse, and that won't be Trump. Nor will it be Cruz from the second ballot on, once the convention delegates do away with by-law 40.

Both Trump and Cruz have their flaws, but the joke is really on Cruz supporters, who are being used as a tool to derail Trump and nominate the RNC's candidate of choice (perhaps Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney) at the convention, since by that stage neither Trump nor Cruz will have enough delegates.

Well, of course he does. From 2012-2014, Donald Trump gave $220,000.00 to the establishment to stamp out the Tea Party, including Karl Rove’s American Crossroads. photo Karl Rove_zpse8nbimz0.jpg
