A Texas judge ordered Wednesday that "affluenza" teen Ethan Couch spend 720 days in jail -- nearly two years -- as a condition for his continued probation for a 2013 fatal drunken-driving crash.

However, the judge said he'd give the defense two weeks to make an argument against the order.

"Nothing is set in stone, so I might reconsider," the judge said in a court hearing in the case in Tarrant County, Texas.

"Tentatively", huh?

So he may get less time or maybe more?

Enough people agree with you that the “affluenza” judge, Jean Boyd, has stepped down already. (I feel sorry for whatever judge inherited this loser’s case. No win scenario.)

"Tentatively", huh?

Well, it does take time to wire money from one offshore account to another.

Or to bribe the members of the jury.

This is absolutely unbelievable, he killed 4 people, injured 9 including a kid who was left paralyzed and brain damaged, and unbelievably he got PROBATION..then he violates probation, escapes justice and STILL they kiss his arse and give him TWO years? Is this kid related to the Clintons in any way?

I do not justify lynch mobs ever, but in this case a part of me would look the other way if it were to happen.

The Judge is wise to make sure the check clears.

I suspect he will have it pretty rough in jail if he makes it there.

for cryin out loud- someone protecting their family with deadly force inside their own home by using a gun to kill a criminal intent on harming the family spends more time in prison for just one death than this creep will for MURDERING IN 4 people, injuring 9 and crippling and disabling a child forever

What the hell is wrong with our court systems?

I'm assuming that since it's almost two years he'll be serving his time in a state prison and not a county jail. He'll meet a more...colorful group of inmates at the prison.

That’s the question.......the Judge needs to retire or run outta town and that punk kid in prison for life and his sorry arsed parents pay for that childs medical bills for life! 2 years is like rubbing salt in a wound......if justice doesn’t prevail in the court, maybe he’ll get his justice in prison.

Jean Boyd, has stepped down already.

Make that 'Jean Boyd, has comfortably retired after making her affluenza ruling'.

Or to bribe the members of the jury.

The last time this kid went on trial he requested a bench trial (the judge decides everything, no jury).

Perhaps the kid's lawyer knew that a jury would be much less sympathetic than a judge. A more cynical person might guess that it's easier to bribe 1 person than 12.

No jury on a probation hearing. Evidentiary burden is pretty low, as well.
