I thought at first they’d find a way to make sure it’s Jeb. Now I’m convinced they’ll go with Kaisch.

Cruz has 445 or so delegates right now.

He ‘might’ have about 645 or so at the end of the primary season.

That means he automatically will NOT win on the first ballot.

He has picked up roughly 100 ‘second round’ pledges with his organizational team.

That gives him 800, if we are really generaous.

That is STILL 437 short on the second ballot, and that’s IF all his current delegates stay with him.

Look at the math, and forget the competition with Trump for just a moment.

Is anyone really surprised?

It has been obvious to most, who were paying attention, that the GOPe was using Cruz against Trump and then were going to backstab him too, I was amazed that Cruz didn’t realize this and willingly became the tool of the GOPe.

Characteristically, some Cruz supporters ascribe godlike powers to their man. Omnisience and omnipotence come to mind. Clearly Ted is the smartest, most powerful man since the beginning of time./s

I’m going to laugh when Trump gets rid of rule 40b and dares the GOPe to nominate Rubio. At that point Cruz’s anti-Trump support will evaporate and he will have ZERO chance at getting to 1237.

I’m a supporter of Ted Cruz. Ted is a big boy. He seems intelligent. If he loses after all is said and done I won’t feel bad for him. He sank based on his strategy.

You just don't get it. We killed the GOPe this cycle. And Cruz is setting them up to rise up zombie-like at the convention. If both Trump and Cruz lose because of this dalliance with the GOPe, then so do we.

Most of what comes out from the Washington Post is pure garbage.

Cruz is not going anywhere. He can pull off some minor tactical wins but loses every major battle.

He’s an ankle bitter. Nothing more.

Six months from now nobody will remember who he is. He is wasting everyone’s time.

WaPo fullachit!
Wisconsin guaranteed a contested convention and anyone with any smarts knows Ted will win it.
So the GOP-e came crawling to HIM not he crawling to them.
Ted will used them to win then throw them out like a greasy rag.

John Kasich is the nominee apparent. Might as well get used to typing it now. If you don’t want that to happen, make sure someone walks into the convention with enough votes for a first ballot win.

It's hard to imagine a more far-right presidential candidate than Cruz,

When the Washington Post writes this, you really know that Cruz is a real conservative.

Cruz will not be the nominee. They will dump him two seconds after Trump is eliminated. Kasich will be the nominee, or another GOPe candidate who wasn’t on the ballot.

Of course, Cruz may decide to destroy the party. He is nothing if not vindictive. If they try to bounce him out after using him as a stalking horse against Trump, they may find a lot of interesting facts hitting the news wires.

Hes their tool. Fact is he was George Bush’s lawyer. So yeah hes still a tool for the GOPe and anybody still supporting him for the GOPe’s NeverTrump campaign is deluded.

Cruz is playing the role of the turd in the punch bowl, deluding the gullible to join the evil in the destruction of America.

“no willingness to appeal to the broader electorate that Republicans arguably need to win”

This is a huge myth that keeps being perpetrated.

How come every time we have wishy-washy Repubs, they lose, then?

If both Trump and Cruz lose because of this dalliance with the GOPe, then so do we.

Which is exactly why Cruz needs to get out now. He will be mathematically eliminated in NY. Why drag this on ... he lost ... his message, methods, and platform are not resonating with the voting public.
