Your utility bill is safe, for now ( EPA )

the U.S. Supreme Court .. issued an injunction blocking the EPA from implementing its Clean Power Plan, which would end America’s use of coal, its cheapest and most abundant source of electricity.

...

Western Colorado’s economy is so dependent on coal. It employs more than 2,000 people and generates $58 million in federal and state royalties, $28 million in private landowner royalties, $4.5 million in reclamation funds, and pays $28 million in property, severance, and sales taxes — all of it on the Western Slope.

EPA has never tried anything so unpopular in its 45-year history, and that is saying a lot. But this proposal seeks to totally transform America’s energy industry in ways Congress never authorized, and that would cost American families hundreds in higher utility bills.

The Clean Air Act, which gives EPA authority over air pollution, empowers the agency to regulate emissions through performance standards applied to individual power plants — not to regulate the gross emissions of an entire industry, or force all production to shift to other fuel sources. Yet that is precisely what the Clean Power Plan tries to do, expanding EPA’s authority to regulate not only existing power plants, but also the companies that own them, and the entire electric grid. It would require owners to shut down or curtail existing coal plants and build or purchase replacement power from natural gas or renewables. That would give EPA power to regulate a significant portion of the American economy — which Congress never authorized...

EPA was sued by more than half of all the states, dozens of utilities, business groups, legal institutes, think tanks, unions, and local governments. Even more fascinating are the legal precedents involved. The Supreme Court has never before blocked a regulation before it was reviewed in the lower courts.

The statists make no secret of their plans. The only uncertainty is how much time it will take them to implement.

If obama had his way, we’d all be obtaining all our electricity from fart-powered wind turbines.

Except for everyone in congress and the White House, of course, who would naturally get a Special Exemption.

It’ll be amazing how much they get done for the socialist/commie/marxist/fascist agenda, by Jan 19, 2017.

There will be more taxes like the Gore Tax.

Count on it.

Most important that Garland’s nomination not be heard by Senate and we take the WH.

The environmentalists behind the Leftist movement that is the influence of the EPA have won too much, and think they are our lord, and master. It’s long past time to ditch the apathy, and kick their butts all the way back to start over.

Thank you for referencing that article george76. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"The Clean Air Act, which gives EPA authority over air pollution, empowers the agency to regulate emissions through performance standards applied to individual power plants — not to regulate the gross emissions of an entire industry, or force all production to shift to other fuel sources."

Patriots, regarding the EPA’s mission, please bear in mind that the Founding States had made the Constitution’s first numbered clauses, Sections 1-3 of Article I, evidently a good place to hide these clauses from Congress, to clarify that all federal legislative powers are vested in the elected members of Congress, not in the executive or judicial branches, or in non-elected federal bureaucrats like those running the EPA, IRS, etc..

So Congress has a constitutional “monopoly” on federal legislative powers whether it wants it or not. But by unconstitutionally delegating legislative powers to non-elected bureaucrats that run constitutionally undefined entities like the EPA, corrupt Congress is wrongly protecting federal legislative powers from the wrath of the voters in blatant defiance of Sections 1-3 mentioned above imo.

And what’s even worse than Congress delegating legislative powers to faceless bureaucrats is this. Since the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate INTRAstate environmental issues for example, Congress is wrongly delegating legislative / regulatory powers that Congress doesn’t have!

Also note that by delegating regulatory powers that they don't have to third party bureaucrats, corrupt lawmakers are actually letting these bureaucrats do their unpopular and mostly unconstitutional legislative work for them. In other words, by letting federal officials outside the legislative branch steal and exercise legislative powers, lawmakers are able to keep their voting records clean so that they can fool low-information patriots to reelect them.

Remember in November!

When patriots elect Trump, Cruz, or whatever conservative they elect, they need to also elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its Section 8-limited powers to support the new president, including putting a stop to federal officials outside the legislative branch, including lawless presidents, from stealing and exercising legislative powers.

Also consider that such a Congress would probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

The EPA, a radical anti human life organization, has got to go. We can not afford it’s agenda and damage any longer.

The super-elite satanists want America to resemble Venezuela.....and all hell-holes, like Detroit now. They want serf systems so people are too busy living hand to mouth so the power is ALL in the elites hands.

It has been the Leftist aim when they destroyed our public skools in the 30s, (John Dewey) for indoctrination/programming centers and to literally destroy the Christian Worldview (critical thinking/Age of Reason/Science/US Constitution) to create their little Brownshirts/Hitler Youth “bots” who march to any order by the State/Soros like Black Lives Matter “bots”. (Pure fascism).

The CIA (super-elites) total control of our information keeps us inside Plato’s Cave and marching off the cliff-—we are in a system which is designed to kill billions of people in the future and destroy critical thinking (Free Will/choice) and Julian Huxley labeled it trans-humanism a hundred years ago and his brother wrote the Bible on what this world the elites are forcing us into (Hegelian Dicalectic) will look like.

Read Brave New World written so long ago but with the total understanding of our what the “education” system (operant conditioning) of Fichte’s curricula will do.

The public school system (Common Core) is designed to destroy critical thinking in children, reduce them to godless animal to be herded and controlled by the State. The children they are pumping out are so irrational and ignorant they actually believe Up is Down, Slavery is Freedom and Boys are Girls. (Pure Marxist “utopia”-—completely empty-headed, programmed bots for the elites to control and manage and kill).

Absolutely!

And if we don't take the White House, stock up on ammo.

Thanks for the pings, George and Jaz! Field season is underway and I don't have much free time to FReep, but I still can check FR occasionally to see what's going on in the real world.

And yet the damage is already being done. Coal shipments are WAY down and natural gas fired electricity generation is WAY up and climbing while total electricity consumption is all but virtually FLAT for the first time in these last 8 years since 1974.

Is there any way to cut electricity to the D.C. area or make them rely on “green energy” exclusively?

I’m confused - wouldn’t having fewer illegal immigrants mean less energy consumption?

When is this injunction supposed to take effect? I’ve already seen stories in the papers about what a problem has already been created with the coal & rail industries,& of course that spreads into many other areas as well. In the meantime, those on fixed income have no way to compensate & many working folks are losing jobs.
