These ancient charges against anyone drive me nuts. They spring up out of nowhere and someone decides to see how much garbage they can dig up. It is virtually impossible to defend against them and their authenticity is often under question.

“Is there anyone in Washington we know of who is definitely not a sexual pervert ?”

Exactly, it is probably why Obama is getting everything he wants at our expense. Remember Hillary and the lost FBI records.

“I’m just pointing out that moral turpitude is an occasion for promotion among Democrats.”

Yes, I agree completely.

Post 26 by stockpirate has the essence of the difference between the two cases:

“Barney Frank was involved with [g]rown men, ...”

You think the male prostitutes used by Frank’s ring were not youths who were abused?

Do you have evidence or know of testimony that Frank sexually abused young males?

“Do you have evidence or know of testimony that Frank sexually abused young males?”

I didn’t say that.

I’d guess Frank has had those relations, most all do (see Harvey Milk).

But my point was male prostitutes are commonly underage.

Its not for nothing that J. Edgar Hoover was FBI director all those years.

Few remember that Bobby Kennedy fired him as did LBJ but he served until he died.

Consider Hastert is not being charged by the Obama Department of Justice with molesting young boys. Instead he is being charged with structuring withdrawals from his own bank accounts in a way to avoid the withdrawals being reported by the bank to the US government. The crime he is being charged with (withdrawing his own money from his own bank accounts) should not be a crime at all in a free country.

Hastert was a big drug war supporter. If he didn't like unconstitutional laws such as this, he should have spoken up when he was Speaker of the House. Let him feel the full force of the policies he suported.

Hastert withdrew the money to pay an extortionist.

People don't pay blackmail money for something that they didn't do. The accusations against him are mostly past the statute of limitations date, but as far as I'm concerned the fact that he was moving money around to pay a blackmailer is an admission of guilt.

You're right that there's a double standard and that the liberals wouldn't be attacking Hastert for this if he were a Democrat. But that's really no different from all of the GOP establishment types who rush to Hastert's defense just because he's one of theirs.

The RNC

Skeevy degenerate bastards with greedy, pulled back wives.

I was in the same hotel with them for 4 days.

Opened my eyes a lot.
