A majority of voters casting their ballots in the Wisconsin Republican primary on Tuesday said the party's nominee should be the candidate who receives the most delegates, regardless of whether that person clinches the 1,237 majority outright, according to an NBC News exit poll.
While 56 percent said the nomination should go to the candidate with the most votes, 42 percent said the delegates should be able to choose anyone they prefer at July's Republican National Convention in Cleveland. More than eight-in-ten of those who said they supported Donald Trump (83 percent) said they preferred the nomination go to the person with the most votes, while just 42 percent of those backing another candidate said the same.
Republican primary voters were more likely to describe themselves as dissatisfied than angry, 53 percent to 32 percent, according to the same exit poll. In another question, 51 percent said they felt betrayed by the Republican establishment.

In terms of ideology, 31 percent described themselves as very conservative, 43 percent as somewhat conservative, 24 percent moderate and 2 percent liberal. More than six-in-10 (62 percent) said they did not identify as white, evangelical Christians, with 38 responding that they do.
While 65 percent of those voting in the Republican open primary identified as Republican, another 29 percent said they were independent and 6 percent said Democratic.
In terms of education, 46 percent said they had graduated college, while 54 percent said they had not.
If Trump wants to win delegates, he has to do more than call Cruz names.
I read earlier that there are no laws against buying delegates. And Trump has lots of money.
And if Ted wants to win, perhaps he should stop with piling on with the GOPe, media and every left wing twit in the nation, and yap about Trump and how much he hates/blames him for everything wrong in his world.

a good amount of folks seem to think it doesn’t matter who has the most nominees, all that matters is what the GOP wants.
The most interesting thing that I read in the article was toward the bottom.
“While 65 percent of those voting in the Republican open primary identified as Republican, another 29 percent said they were independent and 6 percent said Democratic.”
So 35% of those voting were independents or crossover Democrats. There was only one poll that I am aware of that was weighted almost exactly this to this percentage of Democrats and Independents. Does anyone remember who this poll from yesterday indicated this 35% was voting for?

More importantly — it’s been widely reported that 48% of Republican voters want an outsider, while 46% want a candidate with government experience. Presuming some split of the 46% between Cruz and Kasich, this bodes well for Trump.
I’m just excited to watch a few hundred or so votes come in for the people who aren’t even in the race anymore. That always cracks me up.

Cruz and Rubio combined have more popular votes than Trump. A Cruz/Rubio ticket would logically be supported by more people than a Trump ticket. Make it Trump/Kasich then maybe you have a contest.
Bottom line is, these people don’t support the electoral college either, which also does not simply give the presidency to someone with “the most” EVs. They need a majority of EVs or else it goes to the representatives to decide.
Well let them form their own party.
It has been majority since the GOP was created.

Bubba, I don’t think most of us believe that. I saw you on another thread getting heavily attacked for saying some things I say myself. But while FR was mostly unreachable for me I couldn’t post. I have no intention of voting for whoever the GOP establishment wants to force on us this time, either. If we don’t get Trump, I’ll go Libertarian. My family thinks I’m kidding. I’m not.

I brought my 12 yo son to the polling site this afternoon. -True story-
He asked why there are 12 different names on the republican side of the ballot. He thought it was wrong to have candidates that were out of the race on the ballot.
I couldn’t give him a reason other than an opinion.
“ Son, It’s to keep folks confused”
He said then why was there only 3 candidates for the democrats?
I said, “because the democraps are too easily confused and they might pull the handle for Satan or any other criminal.”
Then I told him all of the democrats are criminals......
We were # 2492 in our district t 6:05 this evening. Heavy polling compared to last election in 2012.
