We agree on many things. I do have his suggestion for massive government savings. 1. stop paying to defend allies.
2. shut down DOE 3. Quit paying benefits to illegal aliens. 4.obamacare is annual cost of 1.4 trillion. We can save a trillion using bidding power for the health care safety blanket.return 90% to the freemarket insurance product repealing McCarren- Ferguson so we can buy across state lines with more competition.
I could go on.

“It’s possible that he plans on reducing the size of government because it needs to be done”

The reason I trust he’ll cut government spending is that he will cut the fat he sees just as in his business. He is maniacal at eliminating waste. He already said he’ll cut most of the department of education. I expect he will cut like a madman -or like a businessman- across the board.

Cutting waste and inefficiency is fine, and it’s about time. But that’s not anywhere near enough — we need to reduce the size and power of government, not just make it run more efficiently.

1. stop paying to defend allies.

I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me says yes (and I actually think it's inevitable). But part of me says that what we're really doing by taking on their defense is keeping allies like Germany and Japan (and others) from being armed sufficiently to be a threat. Maybe that's not such a bad idea.
