This is getting tiresome and downright silly. Cruz is trying to win primaries. Pointing out the weaknesses and inconsistencies of ones opponent is one facet of winning elections.
I voted for delegates in my primary (Tenn). I recognized some of the names pledged to Cruz.
btw, there was a story about the Tennessee delegates for both Trump and Cruz agreeing to stand solid for only those two and reject any interloper.
I could go on and on about all the lies Ted Cruz tells about Trump. It the old Mitt Romneys' politics of personal destruction all over again. Only this time it's Trump not Newt on the receiving end.
Were you looking for something like this? Very fresh but not nearly as Presidential as the one I posted earlier.
Not interested in all that.
I am interested in keeping an interloper out. This “he started” this, that and the other thing is playing right into Rove’s greasy little hands.
And that outcome won’t really bother the GOP at all. Republican primary voters just can’t figure out scams; they are too naive.
Grass roots people can’t afford to fly to Cleveland for an overpriced convention; so party hacks become delegates, who know the ropes to failure.
Gee, folks, maybe Jebbie will yet be the nominee; he was convinced he would be as recently as February.
Rove!!! You Magnificent Basterd!!!
Whatever. A fresh face on an old Whig won’t change the smell, Karl, and that ain’t the smell of roses coming from your honey wagon.
This fat-faced Whig is only bringing Whig status ever quicker to the dishonest, traitor-to-their-electorate, on-life-support repub-e (Whig) party. To He** with them.
LOL, ok you get points for creativity and responding in the same vein, but seriously FRiend, do you actually think that the political maggots of the GOPe are going to allow Ted Cruz to be their nominee?
Here is how they’re hoping it breaks down:
a.) They deny and/or steal Trump’s delegate votes, blocking his nomination.
b.) They tell Cruz “gosh Ted, if it wasn’t for all of these scandalous stories which we know you deny, you would be a great nominee but you’re damaged goods now, we’ll ask our presidential and vice-presidential nominees Paul Ryan and Jeb Bush to consider you for the next vacancy on the Supreme Court, nobody in the Senate will stop you, ok?
c.) The GOP goes down to a flaming defeat because they (AND their media sycophants like National Review, etc.) have already pushed the narrative that they would prefer to see Hillary Rotten Criminal in the White House as opposed to Trump or Cruz.
This is all about the UniParty preserving their political dominance. You may not like Trump, and I may not like Cruz, but if either one of them can prevail at the convention, we have to hold our noses and vote for them.
The alternative is simply unacceptable.
1. Trump may well win it outright. Fair chance of that.
2. If Trump falls short of the 1237 then, as I understand it, 57% of the delegates are free to choose. Plus we have both Kasich and Rubio with some votes that should be tradeable for favors from either Trump or Cruz. I think they will make the trade.
3. I do not believe that Priebus and Company have anything like total control over the votes of those 57 % of the delegates (1410 of them) who are free to choose. No chance of that although that belief is widespread here at FR.
4. It is not out of the question that Trump, the old Deal Maker, will cut a deal with Rubio/Kashich and win this thing on the 2nd ballot (or even on the 1st ballot which should be his strategy).
5. What will not happen is anyone but Trump or Cruz getting the nomination.
6. Period.
7. Bonus View: If Trump wins he will kiss Priebus. Ditto Cruz.
The latest meme is that both Trump and Cruz have been so sullied by the primary process that the Republicans will need a “fresh face” that has not been dirtied by combat.
What a load of crap! If the GOPe tries to pull this off, they will lose the general election, and take down the Senate along the way. We will end up with Hillary as POTUS and a liberal SCOTUS that will destroy the Constitution and our liberties.
I am a Cruz guy, and think he will have an easier time recovering from the dirty primaries, but I think even Trump will be able to recover from his nastiness and blunders once the nominee is selected. The DEMS choices are so bad, the election is the Republican’s to lose.
This fool is way past his sell-by date.
Rove is entirely in the Bush Family pocket.
Cruz is now controlled by the Bush Family, ergo Cruz is in Karl Roves pocket as well.
