In an ideal world, we have a moral obligation to keep prisoners safe while they are in custody. I find it difficult to generate enthusiasm for that ideal when our laws fall so far short of justice.
Someone who rapes a young child deserves the death penalty, but the Supreme Court overstepped their bounds and claimed that is unconstitutional without any evidence in the Constitution supporting their claim.
In this case, if the predator were put in the general population and the word got out that he raped and impregnated a 12 y/o girl, I’d be okay with whatever happened.
