Hundreds turned out at the grand opening of a gun shop just a few miles from the Washington, D.C. city limits on Saturday.
The Arlington storefront was packed with people handling a wide variety of firearms, eating breakfast pastries, and talking to the staff of NOVA Armory. The small boutique, which specializes in high-end firearms, opened despite fierce resistance from local anti-gun activists and politicians. The resistance included a protest targeting the gun shops opening.
The protest was held several blocks away from the store in a local park, and most protestors did not come over to the actual location of the store. Kathy Witkowski-Jacobs, a self-identified "hippie" from Arlington who requested to be referred to as "Mama Nanny Cat Dog," was the lone protestor to show up outside the store. At her feet was a plate of food somebody at NOVA Armory had brought out for her.

“...protestors did not come over to the actual location of the store...”
Some are apparently smarter than they look and act......
First of all, I think anybody that has a gun needs to get their head examined like we get our eyes checked every year, Those that have guns need to get regular yearly check-ups...”
“She said she knew that there were a lot of gun owners who are stable but she wants all gun owners to undergo yearly psychological evaluations to figure out which ones arent.”
This babble didn’t come out of thin air. Obviously a movement is afoot - to require annual ‘evaluations’ of gun owners.
Living where I do it boggles my mine that people get that worked up over a gun shop. They are all over the place here. Even our Sheriff’s Dept. sells guns they took from criminals to the public at auction. We don’t see that kind of fear here.
And I say those that publish newspapers should likewise submit to a sanity check every year.
You are correct. Her battle did not come out of thin air. She is parroting the actual strategy of the anti-gun crowd. Psychiatry and psychology are pseudo sciences. They were largely invented in the late 19 century. The actual hard evidence of real science behind their claims of legitimacy are dubious at best. The left has, and will, use psychiatry as a weapon. We saw this in the former Soviet Union were dissidents were locked up in a mental institution. Today, have a debate with an atheist liberal about Christianity, and they will say you “need to have your head examined.” For gun owners, they will use pseudoscience of psychiatry as attacks on gun rights. They can label anyone they want as mentally defective. Remember that.
Mama Nanny Cat Dog?
It used to be consider humane to put people like this in a place where they can’t harm themselves.
There is the countryside, where people have traditional American values and are not freaked out by guns. That is why you can get a concealed carry permit if Virginia simply by completing a half-hour course.
Then there is the Washington DC Vortex of Stupid. This area has every concentrated every ninnyhammer from the 50 states and plunked them down inside the Beltway.
The problem is, the Vortex of Stupid is extending more and more out into the countryside. It is just a matter of time before the DC Tail starts wagging the Virginia Dog, and it will all be over.
“Mama Nanny Cat Dog?”
I’m gonna say the name is appropriate. She definitely has slipped a cog!
OH noes....
It is called “projection.”
These folks are infantile, and should not trusted with sharp objects, much less firearms, and they project their failings on to others.
Right after we check every one who owns a car, drinks, and goes to Justin Bieber concerts.
So-—MamaGoatPussyBitch thinks that OTHER people need to have head exams?
Hell, it’s near the Home Depot. Tools and utensils zone.
For the same reason, I cringe when a Leftist politician says “reasonable people agree . . . “
The implication that people who don’t agree are therefore unreasonable, and probably mentally unstable and in need of hospitalization is too real.
