Cruz could have defused most of this up front. All he had to do was come out and say the ad with Trump's wife in it wasn't from him and he didn't agree with that sort of campaigning. He didn't, he owns it because his campaign was on the "naked wife" kick for a couple weeks before the PAC ran the ad.

Cruz and Beck were probably giving one another high fives over what a good idea that was. How would Ted know it was backfiring until his data miners and psychology team had time to gage the public reaction ? He wouldn't. He lives in an echo chamber where fooling some of the people some of the time has always been good enough.

Furthermore, his new BFF Romney from the GOPe was without a doubt telling Ted to run with it because the GOPe wants this to be a fuel/air explosive that devastates both Trump and Cruz.

Poor Ted. I don't know about the women yet, but I know Ted is sleeping with the likes of Romney and Graham who, in theory, have no use for Ted but somehow are not suspect in this whole flap. Forget that Rubio was their guy, their choice, oh no, all is forgiven. Why would Ted's new GOPe buds do anything to hurt their BFF Ted ?

No normal person who interacts with other people doesn't know what to expect when they attack another guy's wife. Normal people know that when that happens it's time to leave during the shouting and before the fight, or they flat out tell the person making the attack they're out of bounds and try to stop the BS before the shouting turns into a fight.

Ted's caught in his own web. Whether it's a web that includes infidelity or just flirting with infidelity like a little girl tease does remains to be seen.

Ted is the instrument of his own destruction because he attacked Trump's wife.

Before the PAC got involved, well before Utah, Ted decided to go into the gutter. Now that he's in the gutter, any turd rushing by that hits him and knocks him down is no more than what he deserves.

http://dailycaller.com/2016/03/25/cruz-gains-delegates-in-key-convention-posts/

Even though it is written in a confusing manner, it appears the situation with the vote in Louisiana is different from what you and other Trump supporters think it is. Trump and Cruz both won 18 delegates, but 5 of Cruz’ delegates are on key committees at the convention, whereas only one of Trump’s delegates are on such a committee.

His implication was very clear:

“Look at that face!” he said at a conference table with his staff as Mrs. Fiorina took a question about him on television. “Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!”

Let me ask you one question; if someone said that about your wife, daughter or mother, how long would he remain vertical.

Everyone here misses the point. I think we need Trump. I voted for him.

It’s just that if he doesn’t learn to shut up at times, he will talk himself out of victory in the General Election, and that’s all that counts!

Cruz could have defused most of this up front.

My sentiments exactly, and for the very same reasons you stated.

Instead his comment was, it wasn't us it was the PAC. No remorse about it, no condemnation of it, until days later.

I still wish the news organizations would either come out with proof, or abandon the story. It only hurts either candidates chances in the general election. Because now everyone for their candidate is vowing to not vote for the other guy. We all end up losing when Hillary or Bernie gets elected.

"News" outlets were saving it to use after they knew if Ted was the nominee or VP nominee. If not, they'd have used it to slowly grill Ted over an open fire the first time he went for media attention by voicing an opinion about the race or even in the Senate.

As it stands now after this stuff is being aired out, the media have can't play games with when they run something they've been dabbling along on anyway.

NE got Ted's campaign focused wasting their time and obviously limited talents on nothing but attacking Trump just like the Indians were blamed for the Mountain Meadows Massacre until someone dug around and found out who was really behind it.

That's another reason I figure the GOPe is written all over this. Ted either sinks or swims and for the insider crowd either way he's damaged goods. If he swims, they'll back away from him because they will swear they can't be sure there isn't more out there. So, they make it look like they're cheering him on in Utah where he was going to win anyway, then they have a "good reason" for not backing him.

Look at it this way. In political terms they just acted out exactly what Linda Graham joked about they just didn't shoot Ted on the Senate floor. Now who's going to convict the GOPe for shooting Ted ? The gullible Ted fans who think the GOPe was coming round and "seeing the light" but nasty Trump did this, or the GOPe regulars who didn't want him in the race to begin with?

Regards

> A Trump-Cruz team is the only answer to the scheming GOPe and Clinton camp who want to keep the status quo...

This may be one answer, but it is not the only answer. If Trump gets to 1237 or more, which is quite likely, he will have no need for Cruz. The quality that Trump will need most in his VP choice is their ability to corral members of Congress to support his objectives, or nothing will get done. Cruz does not strike me as able to fit well into that function. I suspect his VP choice will fit that quality and also cause a good deal of enthusiasm for the GOP ticket in the general election. I personally cannot see Cruz as VP bringing either.
