Time Warner, Lionsgate, 21st Century Fox, the Weinsteins join ‘religious liberty’ bill protest

Over two days, virtually every major Hollywood production house has come out against Georgia’s “religious liberty” bill, calling on Gov. Nathan Deal to veto the legislation that passed last week.

New York-based Time Warner, which oversees Atlanta’s Turner Entertainment and CNN operations, said the bill “clearly violates the values and principles of inclusion and the ability of all people to live and work free from discrimination.” The Weinstein Company – known for its array of Oscar-winning films – said it “will not stand behind sanctioning the discrimination of‎ LGBT people or any American.” Others who have jumped in against the bill include Lionsgate and 21st Century Fox.

I’d just really be curious what Donald Trump would have to say about this. Really curious.

If he comes down on the side of the Christians, that would bump his rating up nationwide. The better the rating the less likely he will get euchred out of a nomination.

I propose Christians stop watching all movies or television, including sporting events like football, for a year and let’s see what happens.

The Weinsteins are for inclusion?? What a laugh...they consistently produce the most inflammatory anti-Christian hate in Hollywood.

With the types of awful people telling Deal he can’t do this....well, he better sign it now.

And the number of situations in which luggbutt or any such people would actually see resistance is precious little. In fact it would probably be none, with them traveling in their own support circles and most of the general public, unless they were looking, chip on shoulder, for a problem.

It’s most definitely they want to leave the road open to putting those “hateful Christians” under their thumb.

Ooh, someone needs to make mileage out of this. Hoping Donald will, but if he won’t then Cruz could.

Even better, for an eternity. There’s more edifying stuff than this around.

I don’t know why there couldn’t even be Christian sports leagues.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...”

Granted that this isn’t the Federal Congress attempting to squelch that Right, but rather a bunch of private groups and corporations. However, the implication of the First Amendment is that the right to the Free Exercise of religion does exist, and is a Natural Right i.e. not something devolving from government. Therefore, these corporations are publicly stating that they stand for the abridgement of a Natural Right of the public in general, in favor of a manufactured “right” applying to a tiny fraction of the population.

So many have forgotten the old saying “your right to swing your fist ends at my nose”.

So be it. The American public will have to step up and do the job. I am completely uninterested and furtermore, disgusted by what is offered as entertainment today. I will not watch gay oriented or even gay friendly programs. Most of the sitcoms now have the obligatory gay, minorities of each type and NO men, at least none you can swear to. My daughter and son in law can no longer even watch the news while their kids are in the room.

There is nothing that isn’t pushing some kind of agenda or political stance. Nothing inspiring, uplifting or just plain funny or fun. All the writing talent and intellect seems to have dried up. There’s nothing but rehashing, remaking and mucking up what once were great productions by inserting profanity, nudity, sexual innuendo and sticking minority characters where they never would be in reality. Too bad I never see their advertising either.

Liberals will never succeed in making the general public accept what nature has always made inherently repulsive. It’s come to the point where this nonsense is threatening our children in a big way. It’s time to stop it by putting an end to its finance. That would be us.

Even better than “ending its finance” (which is a very difficult campaign at best... have you seen how the proposed boycott lists just grow and grow?) — how about ending its power to hypnotize you. Watch what you put before those little eyes, and why.

Don’t worry about the mammon you pay that goes to it. Think about how much soul you pay to it.

Once you pay it no soul, then you can come back with a wonderful witness that has a soul free of those shackles. Let mammon go. It’s just mammon.

And a wonderful witness is possible indeed.

The problem with these people addicted to sexual perversion is not too much love. It’s too little.

If they loved each other’s bodies more, they would keep them special for the uses that the good Lord intended, and wouldn’t even need to be hounded or shamed into it. They’d know it in their hearts.

I think a lot of this perversion is not “de novo” but is Satanic opportunistic riffs off of physical, emotional, and spiritual abuse. People come to think too LITTLE about their bodies and souls, rather than too MUCH. It’s know how deeply God cares, and knowing it right to the heart, that makes a difference.

Just refusing to have anything to do with the people won’t help them. But you can certainly refuse to let the propaganda numb your soul.

The extremely watered-down bill which sits on the governor’s desk awaiting a veto does NOTHING to protect individual citizens. It does protect ministers from being compelled to witness gay marriages, and it protects church facilities from having to host those marriages. So the opposition to it is clearly just a show of power—and the power of Satan is going to win this one big-time.

I always respect your opinion HiTech. However, for myself and my family, there will be no mingling of light with darkness in any way, shape or form. My precious grandchildren are too important for me to give them the impression that people who practice evil should be pitied and coddled. In my opinion, they need to be told in no uncertain terms that they must repent or perish, not keep making excuses to continue their perversion.

Scripture tells desciples to preach the truth and if it’s not received to shake the dust off our feet and move on. There can never be real fellowship between the light and dark. That’s a Liberal lie that many Christians have bought info. Even the Apostle Paul told us to have no fellowship with such as is being forced upon us by our government.

I don’t think Donald Trump will try to take away LGBT rights but I don’t believe that he’ll let gays intimidate or force Christians to serve them. I think Trump would encourage them to found companies and businesses that cater to them and their tastes; disgusting as they are. Porn and sexually explicit material is available to any adult but no one is forced to partake of it. Why in the world would our government try to do so?

It’s the latter issue that Trump might be able to handle well. Allow religiously oriented organizations to choose their transaction partners without interference from civil rights legislation, because rights in heaven trump (pun unintended) those on earth.

You will miss many opportunities to carry on a witness if you are short-fused black-and-white about it.

Jesus had to do things quick and dramatically if He was only going to be flourishing for 3 years. He did not have decades to spend on a long term spiritual rescue. However, we do. I think you’re the one making the excuses.

And scripture says “Snatch some from the flames and save them.” If you can’t think of anything better than to threaten everyone from Pharisee to adulteress with hellfire towards that end (not even Jesus did so with all audiences), your success rate will be very little. Those who DO show a godly compassion will overcome that darkness with their light. Do you think that light is feebler than darkness? When did you ever step into somewhere pitch dark with a candle and find that the light just vanished?

Visiting darkness with light is not mixing them, and it is blasphemy to call it so.

You nor I nor any mortal convicts a person and leads them to repent. It’s dangerous pride to go with that idea. Our job is to spread the Gospel. The Holy Spirit is the One who does the drawing, the birth of realization of sin and conversion.

I’m really not interested in debating Divine Conviction. I will not subject myself or my family to sexual perverts. End of story. That’s all I intended to convey. If you don’t want input don’t invite it.

Oh, and by the way; find me that “snatch some from the flames” verse in Scripture please. I don’t remember where it is.
