"I actually grew up in a neighborhood just like this – it was on the South Side of Chicago," the First Lady said. "A place where people worked hard to support their families, and where families were close and loving and had strong values."

Obama spoke about growing up in a very small apartment with her brother and her parents. She said she shared a room with her brother that was divided by a wooden partition. “My room was so small that, when I held out my arms I could almost touch both walls at the same time.”

Her tales of woe get worse every day. By the time she leaves the WH, she'll be telling of growing up homeless and living out of dumpsters.

See the rather nice large childhood home where her family lived on the top floor - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-517824/Mrs-O-The-truth-Michelle-Obamas-working-class-credentials.html

Her father had "a well-paid engineering job at Chicago's water plant. Even before overtime, he earned $42,686 - 25 per cent more than High School teachers at the time."

"Michelle was from a middle-class family," confirmed one of her long-time friends, Angela Acree. "She came from a regular family. They had a nice home. It wasn't a mansion, but it was just fine. It was a decent neighbourhood." The 2008 article continues with a quote from her brother, Craig, "We had this game where we set up two rooms and played 'Office'." So, two play rooms but a teeny tiny shared bedroom? Nope, sorry, that dog don't hunt.

In Cuba, she told how everyone put her down but she rose above it and got an education. She and her brother both attended Princeton.

If only the rest of us had such a hard life.

Her message is that they can marry their way to success like she did?

The south side and family values and all that are not usually linked together as she has done.

Even back in her day, the south side was the ghetto, a place of rampant poverty, both material poverty and as important, a poverty of values. Hard to believe she says this was a place of strong values.

Here’s Michelle’s message. Get a job on hospital board. Marry a new US senator. Have him hide a grant to your hospital in the budget and double your salary. Have him become president and travel and spend exorbitant amounts of taxpayer money on travel even though the country is bankrupt and while you’re at it try to control what school kids get to eat for lunch. Make racist and unpatriotic comments when you’re first lady. Then every democrat will love you.

Michelle Robinson’s father was lieutenant of Jesse Jackson, and she spent a lot of time in the Jackson home. There were definitely a lot of upper class blacks there then.

Well, it was a place of strong Democrat party machine values— as described in the UK Daily Mail article posted in #2 above here. Her father worked for the political Daley machine, and was rewarded with a $42K a year waterworks engineering job (not a maintenance man) by the machine. The house pictured in the article is a Craftsman style solid home anyone today would be happy to be living in, and was in a professional’s black neighborhood near the hospital... not the “hood”.

So... those values— party activism and reward. The story of her life— right down to Val Jarrett getting her the hospital system lawyer job specializing in re-directing poor patients to other hospitals, to prevent payouts for free care. 300K plus a year.

“My room was so small that, when I held out my arms I could almost touch both walls at the same time.”

What she doesn't say is that her arm span is approximately 14 feet.

Maybe they sublet a room to that Bounel or whatever his name was.

It was a nice home. If the upstairs was completely finished, there would be ample room for two bedrooms and then some.

Did they live there the whole time Michelle was growing up?

Just one look at a photo of Mooch shows she has very long arms.

"A place where people worked hard to support their families,...."

Now I work hard to support YOUR family, YOUR junkets and YOUR luxury vacations to all points extravagant around the world, with YOU spending 100s of millions of dollars over these past 7 years. Now who is the master and who is the slave?
