The lawyer may know what he is talking about. If he regularly practices there, he probably knows folks in the city prosecutor’s office, the clerk’s office, and the judge’s office. For the time and expense of prosecuting this guy in municipal court, they could probably do several dozen poor black kids. If the feds already have their hooks in, it comes down to a trade off between the publicity they can generate for themselves, vs. the work required to generate that publicity.

If they want to protest with a sign then no problem. If they want to shout out do it when there is general applause. They should not be allowed to interrupt the speech nor disrupt the rally with outbursts. But these are not rational people mostly— banal yutes just being rebels.

Suggest he not waste his parents money on tuition

I would be very surprised if his parents were paying his tuition ...

I am surprised people are allowed to shout obscenities during a presentation AT A VENUE THAT IS CLEARLY PAID FOR BY SOMEONE ELSE AND ATTENDED BY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO HEAR THAT PERSON.

Why is this not against the law? It’s like hating what a rapper says, going to one of his concerts, and standing and screaming. The left would be furious - if you don’t like him, stay home!

Wow, the Secret Service looked extremely slow to respond.

I think because this tree-hugger actually dressed like a conservative instead of some pant down thug. I don't think today's modern protester even owns a suit and tie.

Maybe if you spent more time on what is going on in the world rather than pointing out an others’ trivial syntax or usage l oversights, you would be taken more serious.

Thanks for pointing out my mistake and your vast wordsmith abilities. Nice pun though, I give you that.

“...was simply engaging in a form of political speech....”

...that involves intimidation, the threat of violence, disrupting a legal and lawful gathering, creating a nuisance...

by someone who’s supposedly an “educated” college student?

(More like a dim-witted, uncivilized, murderous, Progressive moron.)

IMHO

It’s clear that Thomas is simply a college student who, in his mind, was simply engaging in a form of political speech and making a statement, in his own mind

There is a distinction between civil disobedience and breaking the law.

I have seen reports that this guy is a 32 year old drama school student. Must be on the 10 year drama graduation plan.

He certainly is a drama queen.

“The federal crime DiMassimo is accused of carries a one-year maximum sentence after a conviction. If a weapon had been used or serious physical injuries had been suffered, there could have been a 10-year maximum”

There was photo posted yesterday showing the Secret Service agent with a cut between his index and second finger.

So that is "physical injury"
