As a close personal friend and mentee of Andrew Breitbart’s, it saddens me tremendously to announce that as of 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time, I have resigned from Breitbart News as editor-at-large. I met Andrew Breitbart when I was seventeen years old and remained his friend until his tragic death; I signed on with Breitbart News two weeks before Andrew’s death because I believed in his mission.
I am proud of what we accomplished in the years following his death, fighting back against the leftist media and debunking the left’s key narratives. I have many good friends at Breitbart News, including editor-in-chief Alex Marlow and editor-at-large John Nolte, and I admire CEO Larry Solov for his dedication to ensuring a financial future for Andrew’s widow, Susie, and his four children.
Andrew built his life and his career on one mission: fight the bullies. But Andrew’s life mission has been betrayed. Indeed, Breitbart News, under the chairmanship of Steve Bannon, has put a stake through the heart of Andrew’s legacy. In my opinion, Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew’s mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump’s personal Pravda, to the extent that he abandoned and undercut his own reporter, Breitbart News’ Michelle Fields, in order to protect Trump’s bully campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who allegedly assaulted Michelle. I spoke with Michelle the night after the incident. She told me her story. That story was backed by audiotape, eyewitness testimony from The Washington Post’s Ben Terris, physical bruises, and video tape.
Both Lewandowski and Trump maligned Michelle in the most repulsive fashion. Meanwhile, Breitbart News not only stood by and did nothing outside of tepidly asking for an apology, they then attempted to abandon Michelle by silencing staff from tweeting or talking about the issue. Finally, in the ultimate indignity, they undermined Michelle completely by running a poorly-evidenced conspiracy theory as their lead story in which Michelle and Terris had somehow misidentified Lewandowski.
This is disgusting. Andrew never would have stood for it. No news outlet would stand for it.
Nobody should.
This truly breaks my heart. But, as I am fond of saying, facts don’t care about your feelings, and the facts are undeniable: Breitbart News has become precisely the reverse of what Andrew would have wanted. Steve Bannon and those who follow his lead should be ashamed of themselves.
Today I informed the management at Breitbart News of my immediate resignation. I do not believe Breitbart News has adequately stood by me during the events of the past week and because of that I believe it is now best for us to part ways.

We meant it when we said make it right. Your credibility is on the line. Will tune in at 12 and will listen all three hours. If I hear a mea culpa today, I will tune in for all three hours tomorrow, and if not, I will swear you off.

she actually went on TV teary eyed and said that millisecond hand grab (where the grin on her face never left her expression) was the most horrible thing she had ever been through in her life other than the death of her father.. WOW
anybody defending Fields after this needs to join the Democrat bandwagon because it’s smearing lies of the left like that we have been fighting here since FR started many years ago.. so much like the Rat Congress people telling everybody they were spat upon and yelled at with racial slurs by the Tea Party protesters on Capitol Hill

She should have thanked Breitbart for allowing her to resign instead of firing her for her wild exaggeration of what happened and her false police report. I would have more respect for Breitbart News if they had fired her.
She tried to destroy Corey Lewandowski’s life over this. She wanted him arrested, fired, and defamed over nothing. I really sympathize with all that he must have been through with reporters on TV and in print falsely accusing him left and right because of Field’s lies. I can only imagine how horrible it was for his family. It speaks well of Trump that he stood by his campaign manager when he was accused without proof, even in the face of a lot of pressure (even harassment) over it from the press (from Katy Tur for example).
That will never happen. Limbaugh lately will totally ignore facts if it doesn’t fit the narrative or promote his mission to help Cruz.
Today he will ignore facts and double down on last Friday. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt I am.
He has fallen into the hole and he can’t grab a rope because he is almost to the bottom.
It is disturbing to listen to him now. He seems unprepared, petty, disjointed, mean, and no longer humorous.
He needs to sit down and listen to his show from last Friday. That was not EIB anymore. He is taking on the Beck mold.

Your bias is clearly shown by the fact that you are still trying to act as if a violent assault occurred even in the face of this new video. That is simply beyond reason. Please, try to think beyond your dislike of Trump.

Used to like Ben Shapiro. His hatred and ridicule of trump is so over the top that I can no longer listen. Same with Levin. And I own levin’s last two books.
Rush is clearly not for trump, but he hasn’t ridiculed him or us. I can at least listen to him at the moment.
Ben you are a purist. I am a pragmatist and if trump is he guy that can deliver my top 3 issues, then he’s my candidate. And he is.

Good riddance. I’ve always detested the smug, self-righteous Ben Shapiro. The brat was barely out of high school and was already lecturing everyone on who is and isn’t a conservative in good standing.
No, Lewandowski was on Trump's left and moved over to Fields who was walking straight ahead on Trump's right.
If this was just some brush past her, why didn't Lewandowski just own up to that?
I am willing to be convinced otherwise if the evidence supports it, but what I've see so far shows her being grabbed.
