It is more than passingly strange that we, in effect, force manufacturing out of the US destined for a foreign country that has no labor laws, etc and accept the production back with no consideration for how it was produced.
It’s like oil - OK to buy it from foreign countries simply because we don’t want to drill here - regulations, etc.
So, as long as ‘stuff’ is not produced here - we have no problem with the worldwide pollution, etc.
Life is strange.
By the time you’re 60 you should know a lot of people. Work the network. I have always done that and it works. It’s a huge advantage kids don’t have.
I am working right now 24 hours a week in a major grocery chain, for my medical benefits only it is union I HATE UNIONS but medical benefits in the union are GREAT!!! you are only required to work 24 hours for medical!! Pay is 11.00 an hour!!! You said you are a baker you know many, many states have cottage kitchen laws where you can sell baked goods and candy ect. out of your home!!! You may want to look into a small business you can do from your home and work for your medical!!! Many grocery chains will hire older folks they are more reliable !!!
I am surprised you would say that about white women, I am an older white woman and have never had a job like that so I sure wouldn’t expect that. I took time out to raise my children and still didn’t expect the work to revolve around me when I went back to work. I was always grateful to have a job, any job I didn’t feel that way about I did not take.
Are these women you refer to average working women or women who never worked?
These are women who’ve worked their whole lives, often unmarried and childless; they seem to envy other women with children (even grandchildren at that age). I guess they thought at some point they’d be “kept” women and it never happened.
I don’t know any women that would describe, sounds like they may be a little bitter...
“Bitter” would be an understatement; on top of that, they think private-sector jobs are unionized government jobs.
On average, brains change over time too.
And people tend to become less willing to work crazy hours.
