Why are "LGBT advocates" in a dramatic tizzy over Shillary's AIDS remark if, as they always insist, it's "not a gay disease?"

Do you know if that is a "straight" number (no pun intended), or a cooked number? I've read that AIDS is often avoided as the official cause of death, which can be attributed instead to any number of complications of AIDS. Does the CDC used the broader metric or the slimmed down number?
