From Hurricane Katrina to Superstorm Sandy, to last year's devastating heat wave in India, the question never ceases to arise: Did global warming cause this?
That question has long made scientists squirm. They know the atmosphere is a complicated place.
But now, says a new report from the National Academy of Sciences exploring the attribution of extreme events to climate change, scientists can be at least a little bit less conservative about this.
The new report argues, careful studies can be conducted that suggest that the probability of a given event occurring was increased because of the current state of the planet. This can be done by observing how far a single event, like a heat wave, is outside the norm of prior events, or by using computer models to determine how often an event like it would occur with or without human greenhouse gas emissions (which can be included or excluded from the model).

Saying it does not make it true.
Even if global warming had been proven by the consistent results of repeatable, scientific method-based experiments, it is also official that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for global warming issues.
No, but maybe prosecuting those who deny it would help?
LOL. Its been stated officially for years that Global Warming is making weather events worse. How is this BS any different? Were they lying before? Or are we supposed to pretend that all the past, hysterical wrong predictions from officials in the past didn’t happen?
Global Warming is like the book 1984. Forget the past, just listen to what we are saying now. Oceania is at war with Eurasia. It has always been at war with Eurasia.
Global warming is responsible for the increased ice pack near the North Pole, right?
No facts, just the word from “paid liars” of the self acclaimed “Climate Change” society of pseudo scientists!
And still they cannot farm Greenland again.
Its been settled science for decades but now -— NOW — they think they have evidence.
sheesh!
It’s official: I can now say that Hillary is the spawn of rabid jackals. In fact, I can now say pretty much anything I want. That’s official, too.
It’s an official lie.
This piece is about as reliable as that of the uber-lefties who produce “scientific proof” that people who listen to fox news are less intelligent and on and on and on. Their blather knows no end and their willingness to avoid the truth to speak their worldview into existence shows they will never care about the truth.
Seriously? Careful studies can be conducted
Lets make the settled science up as we go along. We can make anything fit the agenda.
Guess where this quote is taken from:
"The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded."
"Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite. "
On the other hand, one is not allowed to say that climate change makes some weather events less severe
Global warming hoax has made Presidential speeches worse.
“Seriously? Careful studies can be conducted”
And the studies could “suggest...the probability...”. LOL
Global Warming has created Global Cooling which in turn has caused climate change only in and around the equator which is protected by the global cooling effects of the Arctic and offset by the Antarctic...
Which all of this means we are right and you are wrong...It is pure science based on the truth of theories created by us, the ones who are right......
nope , NEVER !!!!!
