Karl Rove Pans Romney Speech: “Wrong Message From The Wrong Messenger”
BuzzFeed ^ | 3/9/16 | Andrew Kaczynski

“It was the wrong message from the wrong messenger on the wrong day.”

Republican strategist Karl Rove panned Mitt Romney’s anti-Trump speech in an interview that aired on Michigan local radio’s Big Show on Tuesday.

Romney called Trump a “phony” and a “fraud” in a speech last week. Trump hit back, calling Romney a “failed candidate” who should have won in 2012.

“It was the wrong message from the wrong messenger on the wrong day,” said Rove. “This was the day of the debate, so it’s going to get overwhelmed largely by last night. I thought the speech was good but not great, and it gave Trump a chance to come back and remind his supporters of the thing that motivates them, which is Romney lost.”

Why do I think that Rove helped put Romney up to this and now he’s throwing Mitt under the bus...

Anyone else thinking the same thing?

Dollars to donuts Karl was right there in that meeting where they all collaborated about how Romney would espoil it all. Rove now realizes it didn’t work and is trying to rehabilitate his own standing and usher in some other diversion. I’d call him a snake, but he’s too damn fat of an ass to ‘slither’.

Hey, can we Trump and Cruz supporters all agree that what Romney did was horrible? And, that Rove is a snake in the grass? We are from the same group of conservatives who want to fight the establishment...we have simply put out trust in one of either of the men who fight for the same.

Gee, Karl, I also thought you told Romney this was the time and the place and the person to stand up and protest Trump’s victories to the world, to become the “better candidate” than one the people are still choosing!

imo, rove has a track record of backing losers & giving bad advice.

hindsight is 20/20.

rove is obviously trying to save his political viability.

Well, Cruz just called Trump supporters “low-information” and “un-engaged,” so I disagree with your assertion that we’re all from the same group of conservatives.

“Well, Cruz just called Trump supporters “low-information” and “un-engaged,” so I disagree with your assertion that we’re all from the same group of conservatives.”

I think the supporters for both Cruz and Trump are basically same group in their desires for smaller government and reduction in corruption in the government. I didn’t say the candidates are good representatives of that. I am a former Cruz supporter (Trump was never far from lead guy for me) but have been truly disgusted by the lies and distortions Cruz constantly uses to fool his supporters. He knows his statement is not true as the enthusiasm factor is much higher in Trump supporters, he also knows that Trump garners support from pretty much across the spectrum demographically. Cruz is trying to strengthen the impact the lies in present anti-Trump ads are running...he wants to solidify in the sheep that distortion and lies he want voters to have implanted into their minds.

And the Karl jets off to Georgia's Golden Isles for this:

HuffPo’s Grim: 54 Private Jets at Meeting to Stop Trump

by JOEL B. POLLAK
9 Mar 2016
Huffington Post reporter Ryan Grim told CNN’s Brooke Baldwin on Tuesday that “something like 54 private jets” had arrived at an elite meeting of tech CEOs, GOP party insiders and big donors set on stopping Donald Trump before he wins the Republican nomination.

The meeting was the annual World Forum, an off-the-record conference hosted by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a leading Washington, D.C.-based conservative think tank. AEI has hosted the “secretive” event since 1982, but this year had a unique focus. Republican pundit Bill Kristol and former George W. Bush strategist Karl Rove were there, among others, including leaders of both the House and Senate.

Grim broke the story:

Billionaires, tech CEOs and top members of the Republican establishment flew to a private island resort off the coast of Georgia this weekend for the American Enterprise Institute’s annual World Forum, according to sources familiar with the secretive gathering.

The main topic at the closed-to-the-press confab? How to stop Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google co-founder Larry Page, Napster creator and Facebook investor Sean Parker, and Tesla Motors and SpaceX honcho Elon Musk all attended. So did Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)44% (R-Ky.), political guru Karl Rove, House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)56% , GOP Sens. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR)75% (Ark.), Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO)33% (Colo.), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC)88% (S.C.), Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH)50% (Ohio) and Ben Sasse (Neb.), who recently made news by saying he “cannot support Donald Trump.

It's striking how Mitt had absolutely no problem trashing Donald Trump, the leading Republican Presidential candidate when he could not bring himself to voice even the slightest criticism of Barak Obama

Hindsight. If it had worked Karl would be proclaiming his endorsement of the treasonous Romney attack.

Rob Portman is in the fight of his life to save his seat after Ohioans are pissed at him for shelling out $100,000 to fund the race baiting in Mississippi.

He is keeping a very low profile with a primary opponent this coming Tuesday. I predict that after he survives the primary that he will come out full-throated against Trump. But he dare not attack Trump himself prior to the Ohio primary.

Ted Strickland will beat him in November. His last best chance is to loudly support Trump in the general election. He won’t. The puppet masters will insist he attack Trump.
