"You really think Trump's supporters are going to freak out and stay home just because Trump (as well as millions of other conservatives) held their noses for Romney in 2012?"

Doesn't sound like Trump was "holding his nose" back in '12. But, your definition of "holding nose" probably means different things in different years. Sort of like Trump's belief system. A fraud.

Posting pics of Romney with Trump accomplishes what?

I'm not sure what the original poster thought, but treating past nominees civilly is a good thing (yes, even McCain, if you must.) As long as his healthcare plan looks nothing like Romneycare, this is fine.

Romney is at worst slightly left of center of the American political spectrum (and is more likely slightly to the right). Anonymous posters on FR can afford to be purists and despise all non-purists. Presidential candidates can't.

Even the photos with Bill amd Hillary are OK. I would expect most citizens to get their photo taken with the president if they have the opportunity, whether or not they dislike their politics. I do have issues with some of Trump's fairly recent support for and agreement with 'Rats, but this photo gotcha game is annoying.

Your analysis is spot on. Trump is no conservative. He may destroy the establishment, but he is no conservative.

To think I supported him; I'm done with him now. I never got very enthused about him; I don't get jump up and down excited about people. I hate what he and so many others are trying to do to Trump, thwart the will of the people. I hope it all backfires on them mightily.

I think Romney must have a streak of sore loser and is taking it out on Trump who had nothing to do with it. Maybe he's even jealous. You never know. I'm not sure what's in it for him by supporting the corrupt party bosses.

Great post. As a social conservative who has been accused of being part of the establishment by some Trump supporters here I wholeheartedly agree with your post.

Thanks for posting those pics.....as a reminder of the above.

Give me a break. Even I voted for Mittens. It was imperative to defeat Obama.

Doesn't mean 4 years later, considering that the remainder of the Republican field couldn't beat Trump, much less win in the general election, means that Trump is a liberal.

He may destroy the establishment, but he is no conservative.

That's fine with me. Movement conservatives have produced squat since 1994. I want someone who will put America first for a change.

You said...
“Your analysis is spot on. Trump is no conservative. He may destroy the establishment, but he is no conservative.”

And too many are too focused on destroying the establishment that they don’t stop to think what else may get destroyed.

I don’t shed any tears for the GOPe. They did this to themselves and now they are actually looking at Cruz, a man they also hate,as a barrier against Trump.

I agree.

Greta on FOX called Romney dirty and at least once previously criticized Romney for making unfounded allegations. I hope he is not entering the race. Although he is better than Hillary or Obama, that is not saying much.

I would have a lot of respect for trumpster divers if they just be honest with themselves and admit that they are supporting a populist progressive. Why pretend anything else? If you are proud of Trump, why hide a YUUUUGE part of him — a New York progressive populist.
