The "debate" we've been DREADING. Fox News full of themselves as usual. It's not really a "debate" is it? It's a Q&A session with the "moderators" (more like "instigators") who love the spotlight, embed their opinions into the questions, target who they want to take down, pit one against another, avoid substantive issues with the Obama administration and Leftist policies, and give no one a chance to go into any kind of depth on anything.

I hope I miss it. Even Trump may not be enough of a pull to watch this. Carson's humorous comments might have been an attraction but he's not going.

Why does the Right continue to let the Leftist MSM run the Right's show? They meekly come to these things like sheep to a slaughter or like prisoners lined up for target practice. Unbelievable really.

These debates are a joke. I see no reason the remaining candidates should subject themselves to this farce. All Faux News is looking for is some gotcha questions that they can replay a million times.

Oh, well. It’s more free publicity for Trump. I won’t watch it, but that’s nothing new.

If Trump stays away, there will be as many moderators as debaters.

Because of the Romney insertion before this debate, Trump should tell FOX to KMA!

Trump has been quiet the last few hours, perhaps in meetings to plan strategery. Trump should definitely skip the debate and do an appearance elsewhere at the same time.

Carson is out of the debate. Trump needs to skip it too. Let the three losers take gotcha questions from Megyn.

I think Trump may feel he lost ground when he did that a couple of events ago. But I wish he would and I wish he would cry “FOUL” to the whole setup and offer the remaining candidates suggestion on how they could actually run their own show with real issues and real discussions on real substantive topics.

Wouldn’t that be nice.

I don’t know - I wouldn’t like it if I was told I was in a debate just to find out I was being lined up against a wall for target practice. Apparently these guys are willing to do that maybe because they think there’s no alternative but I think they could come up with alternatives.

I don’t know, what’s on my DVR? I think I’ve got the Hunchback of Notre Dame with Charles Laughton and Maureen O’Hare. Think that sounds better.

The Invasion of the Moderators. Sounds almost as scary as The Invasion of the Regulators.

Can totally honest person be asked a gotcha question? A question like “Do you really want to send dying baby orphans back to Mexico?” These can be answered if you have solid core beliefs and know how to express them. Regan could do this. His political beliefs changed on a period of time far before he ran for president and he could tell why they changed. It is up to the candidate to point out question that try force an answer. One of the more infamous question is “Dose this dress make my butt look big?” Or “Have you stopped beating your wife?” The 2nd question assumes something that isn’t necessarily a fact but an accusation. (Hopefully) While in a debate most men would not get away with answering the first question “No! , It isn’t the DRESS that makes your butt look big. (I just had to throw than in) With straight forward and consistent responses the person asked the question can make the questioner (inquisitor) look to be the aggressor and foolish. Bad gotcha questions if answered right can make the candidate look good and the moderator look bad.

These stupid shouting matches and give me a headache. If they really wanted a debate (which they don’t!), they would ask each candidate the same question, an actual policy question, and when that person’s set time was up, his microphone would be shut off. Then they would move to the next guy and repeat the procedure with the very same question.

If a candidate used his time to attack someone else, well, too bad. Each one would still be asked the same policy question and how they answered would be up to them. There wouldn’t be any of this nonsense where a candidate was allowed to immediately respond to a mention of his name.

The MSM turned the debates into the Jerry Springer show.
