2016 RAND Presidential Election Panel Survey (Trump Supporters Analyzed)
RAND Corporation ^ | February 29, 2016 | Michael Pollard, Joshua Mendelsohn

Posted on 02/29/2016 2:04:02 PM PST by Arec Barrwin

"Among people likely to vote in the Republican primary, people are 86.5 percent more likely to prefer Donald Trump as the first-choice nominee relative to all the others if they “somewhat” or “strongly agree” that “people like me don't have any say about what the government does.” Using statistical techniques, we can conclude that this increased preference for Trump is over and beyond any preferences based on respondent gender, age, race/ethnicity, employment status, educational attainment, household income, attitudes towards Muslims, attitudes towards illegal immigrants, or attitudes towards Hispanics."

"Trump also beats Cruz among likely primary voters who have liberal positions on economic issues. Trump does better among those who strongly support tax increases for the wealthy (incomes over $200,000) and support labor unions (Figures 4 and 5, respectively), while Cruz does worse."

Bottom line - While Trump may end up being the Republican nominee, he's certainly not the conservative nominee.

Welcome to the real world where the bulk of US voters are not “Movement Conservatives”.

Reagan said it best

“A Man 75-80% on my side is not my enemy but a valued friend and ally”.

“On the Republican side, the new survey finds Trump’s lead is dominant, and his support tops that of his four remaining opponents combined. The businessman tops his nearest competitor by more than 30 points:
49% back Trump,
16% Marco Rubio,
15% Ted Cruz,
10% Ben Carson
6% John Kasich.”

Man, I am sick and tired of being anal-ized. We’ve been getting anal-ized for the past 20+ years!

As accusations of dishonesty have flown between Trump, Cruz and Rubio, voters say they are more apt to see Trump as honest and trustworthy. Asked who of the five candidates is most honest and trustworthy,
35% name Trump
22% Carson
14% Cruz
13% Rubio.”

While Trump may end up being the Republican nominee, he's certainly not the conservative nominee.

Neither is hillary, sanders, bloomberg or romney (if he jumps in). So who are you going to vote for?

If by conservative you mean open borders, free trade, ever larger banks and business mergers destroying small business, quantitative easing to benefit big banks and business at expense of the middle class, diversity for diversity sake and endless engagement in foreign war adventures then no I am not conservative. Neither is Trump.

I don’t know, I really don’t. If it’s Trump vs Hillary, I may not vote. And that would be the very first time I haven’t voted in a Presidential election.

I agree with Trump on immigration. And I don’t necessarily disagree with many of his other views. But good lord, the man has no character at all. He lies all of the time. He lies so often you literally cannot keep track of them. How can anyone believe anything he says?

Sorry but all of them are lying to one degree or another. That is especially true when some comment made in some other venue appears to contradict something one said before. Rubio, Cruz, Trump, Clinton, Sanders, etc etc all have the issue.

That’s too bad. You should have refrained more times than that.

I think you forgot your sarc tag, because if you are serious about not voting between trump and Clinton then all it does it adds a vote for Clinton and right now in this year anything is better than Clinton.
Unless you are a liberal socialist fool.

I’ve asked this over and over again, and gotten not a single response. What has these so-called “conservatives” actually conserved? I haven’t seen them even attempt to stem the 3rd World invasion of the US, hell, most of them seem to support it or are to afraid to even bring it up. Everything the left has ever really gone after, they’ve gotten, most of these “conservatives” roll over and play dead. Sure, they talk big in magazines, and talk radio, and the internet, but I haven’t seen them actually do anything.

Way way too much talk, and absolutely no action.

So is there enough conservatives in the country then? Hell no

No candidate is perfect, but to think of staying at home only tells me you are throwing your toys out of the carriage in a baby tantrum or you are liberal and really want Clinton to win.

I think Trump is the most conservative when it comes to spending and saving money. He is cheaper then Costco. Any guy who gives Jerry Falwell Wendy’s burgers and fries on his plane is my kind of conservative. Without money you call yourself what ever you want, but you are still broke first and foremost. Ane we are bloody broke. Think about that while you are sitting home and not voting.
