Trump Gains Among Christians in the Middle East By Ray Hanania

Donald Trump may have angered Muslims with his broad swipes at Islamic terrorism and violence, but he has garnered more positive sentiment from Christians in the Middle East.

Trump's comments have gained strong support among Arab Christians and Middle East Christians who feel as though mainstream Muslim activists have failed to fully confront extremists. Though Muslims reject the radicals' tactics of terrorism and violence, arguing that they twist the true face of Islam, their leadership fails in strategic communications. Trump is honest and compensates for this.
Which Republican presidential candidate has had the courage to criticize war criminals former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney? Trump. He feels that the U.S. war with Iraq failed to bring democracy to Iraq and opened the door to extremist terrorist groups. The majority of Middle East Christians agree with Trump and believe that Saddam Hussein's death opened the floodgates for religious extremism to consume Iraq and allow groups like al-Qaida and ISIS to use the country as a staging ground.

Trump should learn to qualify his statements about Islamic terrorists and Mexicans, as the vast majority of Muslims and Mexicans are good people who fall prey to violence and crimes. But the fact remains, Middle East Christians, who make up the majority of Arabs in the United States and who will be voting in this election, believe Trump is their man.

Cruz put his foot in it last year when he addressed a gathering of ME Christians and just used the opportunity to promote Israel. Wrong thing to say to that particular group.

Actually, Christians in Israel (generally Arab) are full citizens, have all the protections of all citizens, and have the highest level of education and income of any group in Israel. So much so that Christian Arabs have demanded (and received) the obligation to be be drafted into the IDF.
And I’ve personally dropped bombs on Islamists who were threatening Christians in certain immediately neighboring areas.
So I would opine Israel is certainly a protector of Christians in the ME.

I have NO CLUE what kind of advice Cruz is getting, but the LAST THING you tell a group of Christians is that Israel is the GREATEST. I hate to inform Cruz, but most Christians don’t mind co-existing with Israel, but they are FAR FROM BEING ZIONISTS.
If Cruz is so OUT OF TOUCH on this, one can only imagine what a NIGHTMARE he would be as a candidate this fall.
The US failed when Obama pulled us out too soon. With his policies the whole ME unraveled. He is the disaster. It lays squarely with him.
Thanks for posting this article. Rubio wants to oust Assad, which would result in the total genocide of Syrian Christians. Not to mention possibly starting WW3. Rubio is incredibly dangerous but there are many low-info voters who would happily vote for him.

The neocons could care less about Middle Eastern Christians - I even seen some posters on here say words to that affect. To them ousting Assad is more important. Also, I assume they are hostile to Catholics and eastern Orthodox Christians at some level also.
