Star Wars: The Force Awakens saved the franchise from the awful fate of the prequels.

I didn’t see even one of the ones listed.
Last movies I watched were “American Sniper” and “Unbroken”.

I put Macbeth in my Amazon Prime queue just last week, but have not watched it yet. I didn’t realize it was an Oscar nominee.

AP has mixed customer reviews:

5 stars 40%
4 stars 18%
3 stars 12%
2 stars 9%
1 star 21%

==

I am not sure whether any of the others have made it to the streaming services yet.

I am familiar with a couple of titles, but never heard of most of them.

I've only seen two recent releases in the last few years...both on a 14 hour flight I took earlier this month.

They were "Black Mass" and "Legend".They're both based on true stories..."Mass" is about the FBI fugitive Whitey Bulger and "Legend" is about the Kray Brothers, upon whom the famous Python skit "The Pirhanna Brothers" was based.

Both very good...and very scary...films.

I liked Black Mass. Thought that Johnny Depp would have been nominated.

This year I went to see Star Wars VII, twice; a Marvel super hero movie; and maybe one other. All of the others had no appeal to me. The Oscars — haven’t watched them in a couple of decades.

I did get “American Sniper,” “Unbroken,” and “Fury” on DVD, because I missed them being on screen due to work and travel.

I also went to see the Hobbit #3, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the new James Bond movie.

As a lifelong Bostonian it's of particular interest to us because there's huge political corruption involved a well (Whitey's younger brother,Billy, was the most powerful politician in the state for years). And it's of great interest to *me* because my Dad grew up in Southie and in our family one was expected to bow his/her had when referring to it.

Agreed but Tom Hanks already did Martian, it was called Castaway.

I liked Robinson Caruso On Mars too :)

Thanks mate, I loves me a gangster film with complex characters.

I liked “kill the Irishman” the Danny Greene story, even if it was a low budget film

And I am gonna say this one more time.

Obama is the Chicago Mob, and Trump is the NY Mob

I only saw one, Spotlight, and it was excellent in every way — writing, casting, acting, storyline, cinematography, soundtrack, attention to details.

Why wasn’t 13 Hours on there — was it 2016? It was phenomenal.
