Melissa Harris-Perry Walks Away From MSNBC Show
MSN.com ^ | February 26, 2016 | MSNBC

Melissa Harris-Perry may be too progressive for the new MSNBC.

The anchor, who has hosted a weekend program on the NBCUniversal-owned cable-news outlet since 2012, said she will not host her show this weekend in what appears to be a significant difference of opinion regarding her role at the network, which has in recent months focused more intently on breaking-news coverage and politics in recent months.

“Here is the reality: Our show was taken — without comment or discussion or notice — in the midst of an election season,” Harris-Perry wrote in a note that was reported previously by the New York Times, then posted on Medium. “After four years of building an audience, developing a brand, and developing trust with our viewers, we were effectively and utterly silenced. Now, MSNBC would like me to appear for four inconsequential hours to read news that they deem relevant without returning to our team any of the editorial control and authority that makes MHP Show distinctive.”

Does this mean she quit?

Wow.

The first big win of the election season.

The ocean levels may not have stopped rise or lowering , but perhaps the tide is changing in our favor.

Like I mentioned in another thread about this story, programs like “Captain Kangaroo” and “The Electric Company” and even “The Banana Splits” that I watched as a kid back in the 1970s were (and probably still are) more worth watching than the drivel that MSNBC has churned out over the years.

Im watching more and more MSNBC so whatever they are doing is working. Id rater watch libs bash Trump and republicans than the slimey snakes at Fox who try and do it undercover.

Fox news is a Rubio superpac and I will no longer watch. I find Morning Joe to be somewhat enjoyable

THE GOLUX GUIDE TO BROADCAST MANAGEMENT

Here’s how this goes:

1. Talent is immensely grateful for opportunity.
2. Talent gets proud
3. Talent stops listening to programming & management
(and/or)
4. Talent pisses off sales
5. Talent loses confidence of management
6. Ownership doesn’t care
7. Talent does what talent does best: screech, bleat, whinny
8. Management studies contract
9. Management thinks of best way to make Talent quit
9. Management does the thing that will make Talent quit
10. Talent quits.
11. New talent enters.
12. Ownership still doesn’t care. (Return to 1.)

I’m watching more MSNBC, as well, but the shows I’ve seen haven’t done much candidate bashing. Surprisingly objective - and it’s refreshing.

Wow. Bad news. Who’s gonna fill the crucial “wears tampons as earrings” role on tv now.

Don’t watch TV....FNC/PMSBC/NPR/C’BS etc .. nope, nada, zilch, zero presstitutes on my toob at home.

.... The net with Drudge, Free Republic and Mark Levin on AM radio drive home from work....Turned my TV off in 2008 when MSM shoe horned the shoe shine polidiot into the white house.

Did live stream the Super Bow a bit from CBS Sports live feed.....

Oh wait .... I lied. We have CNN on the big screen TV in our break room at work in case anyone is constipated.

Stay Safe !!

I watch Morning Joke most mornings. They NEVER have Alan Colmes or any of the long list of goobers that are on FOX all day long.
