Yet the very fact that Trump cared what Sharpton thought of him -- coupled with the developer's recently semi-softened rhetoric on health care (he's vaguely promised to create a new system that would ensure nobody "dies on the street") -- is significant. And the reverend thinks Trump will ultimately ditch the wilder elements of his platform, just as he would say or do anything to get a building built or a Mike Tyson fight booked.
I think it is possible. And it would be a landslide if he ran with Reverend Al.
People forget (or never knew) what good friends and allies Trump and Sharption were.
They pal'd around together. Babe hunting and general carousing as well as business stuff.
Trump paid for a lot of Sharpton's organization to help him get further along.

And Big Al, who incites race riots for a living, compares Trump to that? Even for me, that’s a bit of a stretch.
Now, if he means that Trump is a self-promoting con man like King, then I completely agree.
Sharpton meant it positively.
Trump and Sharpton are old friends.
Al likes Trump.
Sharpton could be Trump’s veep.
Or maybe Rodney King.
