Senator Reid’s irrational comment brings to mind a serious question

politics aside,.....this is a straight-forward real question....is there any law/procedure for removing senators and congress-critters when their behavior demonstrates a serious disconnection with reality (have “lost it”).... or are otherwise simply incapable of carrying on their representational duties?

I was hoping for a simpler, easier (perhaps medically-oriented, rather than outright impeachment which usually presupposes some serious wrong-doing)
