Take a look back in mixed martial arts history at Genki Sudoâs post-fight celebrations. The cerebral âNeo-Samuraiâ would raise a flag sporting many other nationsâ flags, with bold text that read, âWe are All One.â
MMA has reached increased visibility across the globe since Sudoâs time. With Americaâs divisive 2016 presidential election in full swing, itâs time to join an international chorus -- it includes Franceâs prime minister, the United Nationsâ human rights commissioner, Canadaâs foreign affairs minister, Hollandâs foreign minister and many, many more -- in condemning Donald Trumpâs candidacy.
Trumpâs absurd quotes are proving the American political process to be more pro-wrestling promo theater than anything reflecting a democratic election. Yet he currently leads the bewildered field of Republican nominees. Trump enjoys unsurprising support from the âtelling it like it isâ lowest common denominator. In MMA, that crowd includes UFC President Dana White, PED cheat and money laundering real estate fraud Chael Sonnen and the man that once compared working for the Ultimate Fighting Championship to slavery: Tito Ortiz.
Huh? Well, this is enlightening.
I know a few MMA’s who would take exception to this screed and would likely invite Danny to a ring match. No doubt though, it might influence some not to vote for Trump. Low blow, but likely little impact.
Even this abbreviated list would have to be edited to fit nicely as an epitaph.
Typical sports media kunt towing the liberal line.
Chael Sonnen should sue the author and use Trump’s money.
MMA is a joke, it’s just today’s version of wrestling with a little more contact. I neither watch nor care what they do.
I do however offer to teach those serious about it some real hand to hand combat.
My, my how,you exaggerate and stretch the truth. A list of whoppers, to suit your anti-Trump agenda.
This is the second hissy fit I’ve read today - The first was by someone having a hissy fit and calling Trump supporters “Trumpkins”. I think we are going to see a giant influx of people claiming microaggression. I think there are going to be a great need for safe spaces.
Quoting Trump or revealing facts from his biography is a favorite trick of the anti-Trump crowd; it’s unseemly to Trump fans.
Yeah, flaglady, you’re way, way overmatched here when it comes to brains. Might wanna proceed carefully.
It would be fun to see you in a match against some of the MMA guys.
I wouldn’t agree to it.
If your opponent is still breathing after 3 strikes. Then you’re not doing it right.
You can’t take combat into a sports match.
It’s like inviting skeet shooters into a firefight. The rules aren’t the the same.
