The only solution would then be that the US split into two separate nations along the same lines as the India Pakistan split in the late forties. And think how messy that turned out. Since the Democratic Party has effectively become the operational arm of the CPUSA, there can be no coexistence.

"Like Mike Seidman, I also was put-off by the invocation of the "Georgetown Community" in the press release that Dean Treanor issued Saturday. I imagine many other faculty, students and staff, particularly people of color, women and sexual minorities, cringed at headline and at the unmitigated praise with which the press release described a jurist that many of us believe was a defender of privilege, oppression and bigotry, one whose intellectual positions were not brilliant but simplistic and formalistic." -- Gary Peller

Here is a photo of Justice Scalia hating on minorities and women at Georgetown Law School this past November. You can easily see how hateful he is and how offended his victims are:

Like France in the years before WW1, and Germany in the years following WW1. This doesn’t end well.

They need to honor him, then.

One can't help but believe we are totally screwed as a nation.

You are correct. When the rule of law is subject to the whim of the current zeitgeist, that nation is going downhill at supersonic speed.

It breeds anti Israel pro muslim agents who go out into the US government, Media and Academia after they leave Georgetown.

All of this sounds like the increasing anti-semitism in France.

...allowing a racist community organizer to stay in power for four more horrible years.

Among the many reasons obama got his 2nd term, one reason was all those young women voters who saw obama as 'a cool mysterious black man.'

Sadly, that’s part of it.

Women were voting slaves to Clinton also. One of the most prominent abusers of women in modern times, and they wanted him as their leader.

Truly abysmal...

Professor Peller's statement goes on to say that Justice Scalia "was not a legal figure to be lionized or emulated by our students," saying that he "bullied lawyers, trafficked in personal humiliation of advocates, and openly sided with the party of intolerance in the 'culture wars' he often invoked..." I don't want to teach our students to hold someone like Scalia in reverence because he's a 'Supreme Court Justice.'"

I feel sick to my stomach when I think of the sacrifices, including a second mortgage my wife and I made to put our daughter through Georgetown, albeit the domestic enemies in 1990 were not as obvious and numerous and irrational as they appear today. And they are committed.

As a Catholic institution, Georgetown no longer exists. These radical professors are the new face of Georgetown. I can't address the Law school, but I hope the Walsh School of Foreign Service and its rigorous academics has remained unchanged, relevant and competitive in this confused chaotic domestic and international world.

The soft squishy irrelevant majors? I don't even want to know : women's studies? Community Activism? black or green studies? alternative genders studies? A waste of time, all.

It was such a great institution, Georgetown was, still, just 25 years go.

RIP.

The statement should have said something like, The Georgetown School of Law expresses its sorrow at the passing of Justice Scalia, by a vote of 132 to 55.

Or better yet, "132 faculty members of Georgetown University express their sorrow at the passing of a respected and beloved alumnus Justice Scalia."

I suppose if those students of the University who wanted to express their feelings, were not considered important enough to allow them that expression.

For too long we have catered to the few. One day it must end.

And it probably won't solve a damn thing. The US is increasingly becoming two distinct cultures, irreconcilable and determined.

Actually, more than two distinct cultures. The 'melting pot' idea was deliberately destroyed by cultural "least common denominators," rather than driven by the spirit of the early part of the 20th Century : assimilation.

The rise of political correctness and other controversial subjects subjugated and destroyed that drive for assimilation. To the detriment of the original American dream, rather than to its enhancement.

The press refused to vet him. That wanted to be part of the narrative about first black prez.

I guess their mothers didn’t teach them to remain quiet if they didn’t have anything nice to say about someone. Not only do I mourn the passing of Justice Scalia, I also mourn the loss of basic social manners and courtesy.

Jesuits can be bad enough; but it all went downhill when John DeGioia, the “first lay president”, took over around 2001 or so. Close friends had their kid there in the early 00’s. Just graduated in the nick of time — the very next year they held a “Sex Positive Week” on the green. it was bad enough before that, with the co-ed floors in co-ed dorms and the RA’s coaching them about “sexiling” your roommate if you were going to shag your date. As Protestants, the family visited the Prottie service one time: lesbian minister. They wanted a Christian environment but still a good prep for working in national affairs for their only child. They were so disappointed at the decdence.

I share your sorrow. Reading his opinions literally changed my life. My ConLaw class was when I became a conservative, back in the 90s. God bless his family and give him eternal peace.

When Scalia attended Georgetown it was a Catholic institution of higher learning. The entire student body wore coat and tie and began each day by attending 6am mass.

How times have changed.
