Washington (CNN)Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz drew fire from a new quarter Tuesday, when the Chinese government tore into the Texas senator for a bill he pushed through the Senate last week.
The legislation would rename a part of the street across from China's embassy after a pro-democracy activist jailed by Beijing. It would effectively change the embassy's address to "1 Liu Xiaobo Plaza," after the Nobel Peace Prize winner serving an 11-year sentence in part for publishing an anti-Communist manifesto calling for political freedoms.
China's Foreign Ministry blasted Cruz's bill as a "political farce" and warned that it would have serious repercussions for its relationship with the U.S if it were to pass the House and become law. The measure cleared the Senate in a unanimous voice vote on Friday...

I hate to agree with the chicoms but that is the very definition of a political stunt. Something Ted excels at. Actually achieving results, not so much.

That is true, the Trumpeters despise Ted Cruz for being the only genuine Tea Party conservative in the race. They absolutely hate him for it. So much so that they have to invent lies about Ted Cruz to help the Donald avoid being compared to him on the issues.
Trump has been making deals in China for a long time. They understand politics in the U.S. and that you have to say whatever it takes to get elected.
Same goes for Rubio.

It's bad enough the guy has absolutely no record of legislative achievement and now an imbecile only naming part of a street becomes a huge achiement shining a light on communist human rights abuses.
Most people don't even know who the guy is let alone pronounce the name.

I thought the same thing. A senator naming streets? I knew they spent their time naming post offices but streets, too?
Let me make sure I have this correct:
The world has a $1.4 QUADRILLION exposure in derivatives (with less than 1% backed by anything substantial) that is showing signs of blowing up.
The US is ~$20 TRILLION in debt (likely $21 TRILLION by the time 0bama leaves office, if he does).
The US has ~$250 TRILLION in unfunded liabilities
Harvard morons (with highly placed connections) are now openly proposing we eliminate the $100 bill (to start with) to open the way for NEGATIVE interest rates (and full government control over financial transactions)
We are being invaded daily by low-level workers and their families (or just their kids) along with countless numbers of terrorists.
We are on the verge of war with Russia in the Mideast (and possibly the Chinese over some manmade islands in the Western Pacific).
And Ted Cruz (my no longer Canadian senator) is pushing legislation (because Congress has nothing better to do) to rename a street in front of the Chinese Embassy just to p*ss off the Chinese who own a large percentage of our debt and are working to destroy the US$ as the world reserve currency.
We are well and truly screwed. All I can do is try to prepare my children and grandson for what is barreling down the track at them at full speed.
You know, Ted Cruz can do more than one thing at a time. And drawing attention to Red China’s human rights abuses is the absolute right thing to do. Sorry you feel that Communist oppression is something better swept under the rug.
Good summation and they wonder why we’re hostile! If this weren’t so tragic, it would be comical.
