That’s ok,...Free Republic with revert to the usual whining GOPe losers if anyone else but Trump is nominated.... 4, maybe 8 long years or more of it.

Nice compared to some things I’ve seen.
Cruzbots being one of the nicest.
I once answered a question about Trump’s present wife, Melania, with a factual answer which I verified before posting.
I was set upon by one of the Donald’s self appointed Enforcers .

And Trump does act like a Little Tin Godling.
If he doesn’t get his way he destroys everything and everyone he can.
If someone gets close to him in the polls he sets about to destroy that candidate politically and personally.
And laughs about it.
He tells a reporter that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose poll numbers, and is proud of it.
What better definition is there?

Trump-menschen.
Look it up.
Translate it.

Comparing Trump to Hitler is not something I would do. I do think that the leadership principle is a similar tenet that they both share, and that their supporters were and are uncritical about the LEADER, but Trump does not advocate the types of things Hitler advocated. Trump is actually fond of Putin, and would probably behave more like him. He’s said that Putin’s probably not a murderer and, if he is, he is no different than the USA. So we see that in Trump’s mind his model is probably more like Putin than like Hitler.

Ironically his entire campaign appeal is based on naming names and calling out people of both parties and at any level who Trump believes (along with millions of others) have been willing to harm America for their own personal interests

I see some using the term for Trump as a “crony capitalist”: what does that really mean?

That he has worked all his life to enrich himself and his cronies at the expense of others and of this nation? That he is a selfish power monger? Just not seeing it. I don’t even know why he is running, he already has a world famous name, his own big airplane, power and wealth. In fact his family stands to lose if he wins because their lives will be changed forever and not in a good way

Now Soros, and the Clintons- there are some classic crony capitalists -

George W. Bush was perfect and you're a liberal if you dare criticize him. /sarcasm

GWB certainly was not perfect and there was/is a lot to be criticized but, using lefty Code Pink talking points isn't conservative. FReepers stood outside Walter Reed across from Code Pink and heard their lies over and over. That the same lies are being spewed by Trump and his followers is a slap in the face of those FReepers and the soldiers that fought the War on Terror. It is a terrible betrayal.

If anyone but Trump is nominated, then we will try to share your ebullience until November, as conservatism is further torn to shreds by the same multi-party establishment pack that is savaging Trump

and then, just like after Romney and McCain, we will all wallow together in another 8 years of misery while the conservatives tell us how they just could not vote for a guy that didn’t meet their mostly single-issue conservative standards

Um, you do this is 2016, right? We all like to live in the “good times” pre-9/11, but the world has changed and in many cases our government, R and D are not doing anything to help, but possibly making it worse.

I wonder if the people slamming Trump (or anyone else) who questions any part of the official narrative about the leadup to the Iraq war will have the same attitude about anyone who questions the official narrative about the death of Antonin Scalia?

It was one reason I joined.
A lot of back and forth between people on the issues using facts and well thought out posts.
Sometimes feelings got hurt but it was rarely personal.

Now?
Not so much.

This election has turned things upside down and inside out.
Maybe it’s just part of the hatred of President Stompy Feet Obama coupled with the gut wrenching desire to throttle Hillary.

Seven years is a long time to hold your anger as the Executive Branch destroys as much of the nation as he can.

So in your vision, Trump gets nominated soon. Then the 65- 70% of Republicans who have not been voting for him suddenly embrace him. They too want his ugly slash-and-burn, take no prisoners, everyone is the enemy, and "Trump alone" knows what's best. All other Republicans embrace the idea that no explanations or facts matters. We don't need to know the how for the big promises. We only need to believe, and have faith that this Messiah will make America GREAT and YUGE again. Then, Independents, too, will decide it's better to go with a radical, vain, megalomaniacal candidate with no elected experience, a born again conservative without even a fundamental understanding of the philosophy or desire for less government, rather than the course we're already on, a course many of them see as safe. Next, as you see it, at least enough Hispanics and Democrats say, "Hey, we want to jump on that bandwagon because he's going to ....what...." Betray the whimsies he's been asserting to his new friends the Republican?

Then, the great malicious blowhard Trump becomes president and has no political party to work with; he's alienated both parties with his mean-spirited attacks and inane screeds. Yeah, that's a picture of success.

Good luck with this idea because unless you can install a dictatorship Trump isn't going to persuaded anyone to follow him after his vile attacks on everyone.

Trump did not betray our vets by saying what he said

What he is saying is that the vets were betrayed by the people who sent them over there and accomplished NOTHING or worse

I used to love GWB until he retreated under democrat fire during his second term, and abandoned me and you and everyone in America to insanely partisan democrats, which then brought us Barack Obama, who Bush FAILED TO EXPOSE (could have used our national intel agencies to expose this guy before he was nominated) and meekly accepted as just another member of the executive office gentleman’s club

I now believe that Bush betrayed our vets by sending them to war against an enemy he wouldn’t even name and had no stomach to defeat - ISLAMIC ideology

Who made the ad?

That was my question. I can't imagine whom it benefits. Personally (I repeat myself) I don't like it. There's plenty to question Senator Cruz about without making accusations that aren't entirely true.

PACs are the worst decision the court ever made. They're just the opposite of truth in advertising, which is an important principle to safeguard consumers.

You may be right, but we all still have free will and can choose not to be rancorous. Leaders set the tone. Trump’s tone has definitely been picked up on by his supporters. To many of them, people don’t have disagreements. They are not wrong headed. They’re losers.

Iraq war was sold and authorized on Saddam’s refusal for UN inspections, not the MSM’s claim of “he has WMDs”. Read up on the UN resolutions and Bush’s authorization to Congress for cripes sake. It’s the MSM that re-cast it as a proof of WMDs vs. refusal of UN resolutions and inspections. It was a calculated lie to favor the dems, particularly those who voted in favor of the use of force resolution.

When the Dems took over congress in 2007 they cut Iraq OCO funds causing a timeline for US withdrawl. After the US withdrawl from Iraq in 2009 (Obama) the region went to hell. ISIS emerged in 2011 (Obama). The Arab Spring kicked off in 2012 (Obama). And the MSM and Dems (+ Trump) blame GWB for the region’s destabilization 3 years after the withdrawal of US troops? Delusional!

Saddam’s refusal of inspections obviated the existence of Iraqi WMD programs (and oil smuggling).

As for Saddam’s WMDs they are still very topical. When the coalition invaded Iraq (Baathist party) in 2003 Saddam shipped Iraq’s stockpile of WMDs to Syria (also Baathist). ISIS overran several bases they were stored at beginning in 2012. ISIS subsequently used Iraqi Sarin gas against Syrian civilians in 2013. At the time the MSM blamed Assad in order to continue their complicit covering of the existence of Iraqi WMDs and justify action against Assad. They knew it was Saddam’s Sarin and their lie stands today.

ISIS continues to use Saddam’s Syrian-stored WMDs and the US MSM remains silent to protect their false narrative and shield the Dems in their culpability.

Spewing Code Pink talking points most certainly is a betrayal, of the Vets and FReepers who stood out in all kinds of weather to counter the lies. That those lies are now being spewed and defended on a conservative site that FOUGHT them is appalling.

I have posted links on other threads that WMDs existed and ISIS now has them. Bush warned in 2007 what would happen if we pulled out too soon. Obama did so and handed WMDs to ISIS. Who gets blamed? Bush. Trump didn't attack Obama, he went after Bush. That tells me all I need to know about Trump.
