Can George W. Bush Save Jeb?
The Atlantic ^ | 2/16/16 | DAVID A. GRAHAM

Posted on 02/16/2016 5:00:04 AM PST by jimbo123

Time and again this election, Jeb Bush has been outshone by more charismatic candidates. On Monday, there was a slight variation on the story. Once again, Jeb was outdone by a much more talented politician, but this time, it was a backer and not a rival: Jeb's big brother George W. Bush.

It was the former president's first appearance on the campaign trail this cycle, and it came just a few days before the South Carolina Republican primary, which is shaping up to be a make-or-break moment for Jeb. President Bush, along with his wife Laura and Senator Lindsey Graham, helped pack 3,000 people in for a rally in North Charleston. It's proof that his popularity endures in South Carolina, but it's too early to tell whether that popularity will prove transferrable.

What a silly question. A better question would be will Jeb! sink the reputation of everyone and everything involved with the Bush Dynasty.

Can George W. Bush Save Jeb?

Doubtful.

But Dubya's mission isn't to get Jeb! elected. His mission is to salvage the family name somehow...which Jeb! abandoned.

Bringing George W. Bush out to save Jeb’s presidential campaign is liking digging up Babe Ruth from his grave in the hopes that he can add some power to the lineup of the New York Yankees.

Rubio is passing Cruz. I bet Limbaugh’s endorsement helped push Rubio over Cruz.

Stone’s book. Or STONED book is coming out today. Jeb was a stoner for years. His drug buddies might still be in his corner.

SCGOP machine has been behind Marco for several months, since Jeb! faltered.

——Jeb Bush has been outshone by more charismatic candidates.-——

There is the essence of Jeb’s failure.

In the current race, charisma Trumps gravitas. Since W is not Jeb, W will be on no real help.

George W. looks like a wrinkled old shirt. He should go back to bed.

Save Jeb? More like doom Republicans in the general elections.

I like the guy from a personality standpoint, but I really wish they’d keep him mothballed. I’d like to avoid a Sanders Administration.

We should be running against Obama on HIS 8 year record alone. Putting Bush front and center is a distraction from what should be the real focus.

Among the brain dead he may have some ability to pull him up a tad. Among anyone who has seen what happened over the past 12 yeas, not so much.

I think most like me feel where was this guy for the past seven years? Was he defending his record, no. Was he pointing out what a disaster the black hole has been, no. So, why does he surface now? To keep the dynasty going. Says a lot for his views of the country.

BTW, I am no way denigrating him as an individual. I think he is a good person but unfortunately we don’t need any advice from “good” people now. We need a winner who supports my values and desires for the country. My biggest desires are to secure the border, get rid of the illegals, stop the insiders from raiding the treasury and return to a pre constant war mentality with a constitutionally strict government.
