Jeb and Rubio were okay drafting women, if you recall from the last debate.

However:

"According to a special interim report released in December by CMR, a Marine Corps study found that "the assessment across all occupational specialties revealed that gender-integrated teams, squads, or crews demonstrated, with very few exceptions, degraded performance… directly related to the physiological differences between males and females

Let feminists get what they say they want. Draft them.

All those who NEVER served are in favor of the draft. What else is new?

Exactly. A couple years of national service for this whiny, whimpering, safe space-craving, college-age gaggle of spoiled brats would do them some serious good. Don't have to send women into combat specialties for this to be successful, but there are plenty of support specialties where they can serve.

The root of the issue lies with the cases brought in decades past where the courts specifically cited women’s ineligibility for combat arms positions as the reason why they were not included in the selective service laws. It is a violation of equal protection if the recent change mandated by Obama and company doesn’t also mandate the change in draft registration.

It does not make the situation right, but compounding two wrongs does not produce right, either.

The whole situation stinks, and is completely unnecessary, except for the idiotic social engineering attempts by the Obama regime.

I understand the cynicism, but national security requires this be killed.

Even after coaching, multiple attempts, breaking rules, and probably a push and shove here and there, they managed to graduate just 2 females out of hundreds that have ever tried the ranger school.

And they want to draft random females? They are not just crazy or insane; they are traitors.

Given the new declaration that women can be in combat arms, I don’t see how non-combat roles could be reserved for drafted women without violating the equal protection clause of the constitution.

This is a many-headed hydra that Obama and company have constructed.

No way....everyone knows that the feminist got a lot of things wrong and thanks to them many things are screwed up in our society. If conservatives get elected they are going to be trying to undo all the harm feminists have done.

Drafting girls is not right at any level.

“Concerned Women for America”, “Family Research Council”, have got their two cents in.

Where are the so-called big name womens’ rights organizations’ voices, either in defense or in rejection of this idea? Where does the great hillabeast stand? Why is she not speaking on it?

Why is this idea such an outrage, when good ol’ Charlie Rangel has stated he wants to bring back the draft for young men, and there has been no upsetting news about THAT?????

I agree - but it is unconstitutional (based on prior rulings) to kill it, because of the social engineering bovine scat promoted by this regime.

The integration of women into combat arms must be reversed to preserve this necessary distinction.

No woman should be drafted, no man should be drafted, not in a free society, no better than slavery back then.

Last time someone was drafted was what ? 40 years ago? ~ 1974

This current draft registration law was signed by Carter in 1980 because of .....?

Wikaped claims it was in response to Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, but knowing Carter it was probably to stir up opposition to him doing anything militarily.

This is such a non-issue.

There are a lot of roles outside of combat that women can perform well. Admin, logistics, medical, intelligence, support, etc. Why shouldn’t women be drafted for these roles? If the nation is in the situation where a draft is needed, moving men into the combat roles and out of these support roles should be a higher priority. For each women that fills these roles, you free up a man to serve in a combat role.

Because every soldier’s basic specialty is infantry. That’s why they train marksmanship, weapons, etc. in basic training.

Don’t be fooled. This ‘draft women’ thing is a tactic by the Democrats to try and force more females into voting for Democrats, with the perception that women would be more likely to be called up to fight if a ‘war monger Republican’ were elected.

Most soldiers were volunteers, and ones that faced hardship at home Blacks, Hispanics and Japanese-Americans who were interned served of their own will, even Native-Americans enlisted, I just agree with Robert A Heinlein on this subject, disagree if you must which I will respect.

This is a many-headed hydra that Obama and company have constructed.

It is indeed that, and the only way to get society's attention on this is to carry it to the level of EVERYONE having skin in the game... until sanity rules again and this madness of women in combat specialties crap is reversed. That's my point... it exposes the hypocrisy of those who think women should have the "right" to be in combat specialties in order to reap the career benefits. What should then follow is the mechanism that makes them liable to have to actually act on that sentiment.
