This is not surprising. People being people, it is often the case where two things are noticed at the same time, and as a result of the co-discovery, people think they are connected.
There is little reason to think that Zika virus is involved (although some bacteria and viruses are, in fact, associated with a higher risk of microcephaly). There is *no* reason to think a vaccine is involved, especially a vaccine that was introduced *after* microcephaly cases seem to have increased.
At this time, we still do not know if there really has been an increase in microcephaly, or if it is being diagnosed at a higher rate without an actual increase. We also do not know the cause of each case of microcephaly, which is important since there are many causes of the condition.

Imagine you are young and poor in Brazil and a guy in a white coat tells you this shot is going to protect your baby.
Remember that smart people in this country RECOMMEND THE FLU VACCINE right now for pregnant people.

The Catholic church has caught drug companies delivering sterilization via vaccines in Africa and South America. Surely the people of Brazil have heard about this.
There is a paragraph buried in a New York Times article today that says:
Experts are not yet sure whether Zika is the cause of a sudden surge of babies born in Brazil with microcephaly.
The article is titled “Catholic Leaders Say Zika Doesn’t Change Ban on Contraception,” and is all about that subject. God bless the caption writer, who stuck this important datum in the caption of a photo, otherwise I never would have noticed it.
Since the microcephaly is more prominent in one region, the northeast, I tend to think that it is some kind of agro agression, especially since this is the kind of thing that some agro businesses tend to cover up.
It will be important to determine if the relative incidence of smaller infant heads seen in previous years in Brazil has become much more severe both in number and degree of shrunkeness in this past year. Defects could be exaggerated because of vaccines, bug spraying, or toxic agricultural chemicals. However, my impression from reading other articles on Zika is that the virus does have and influence, just, perhaps, not the only influence. Below is an article about cases in Colombia, and two maps showing the newly calculated range of Aedes aegypti and another Zika vector Aedes albopictor throughout most of the US.
