Bernie Sanders asked to drop American Legion emblem from campaign
The American Legion has asked the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders to "cease and desist" from using the organization's emblem in campaign fliers.
The American Legion wrote to Sanders' Senate office that it did not have permission to use the emblem in his campaign fliers.
Sanders' campaign didn't immediately return a request seeking comment.
The American Legion has twice complained to Sanders officials since Jan. 22 about the use of the emblem in campaign materials. A Feb. 1 letter from the American Legion obtained by The Associated Press warns that "any further communication about it will be through our trademark attorney in the appropriate forum."
An earlier report in a New Hampshire paper said that Sanders had used the images of pastors and veterans in his fliers.

What’s the difference between capitalist hell and socialist hell.
In capitalist hell, the damned must lie on a bed of nails while a steam roller drives over them. In socialist hell, it is exactly the same, except sometimes there are no nails, sometimes the steam roller is broken and sometimes the driver is too drunk to work.
The story suggest this is a pattern. It’s easy to joke about it, but this is serious. I don’t know what his campaign could have been thinking. You just don’t do this.
Heartbreakingly, The Stolen Valor Law was basically nullified as an infringement on freedom of speech. Obama signed the new law that makes it a crime to profit from Stolen Valor, but the crime of Stolen Valor is no longer a crime.
The last part of the oath is: "....and I further pledge I am not a member of and do not subscribe to the principles of any group opposed to our form of government." Technically any member who supports Sanders is disqualified from holding office in the Legion.
I'm guessing that's why the Legion is asking him to stop using the logo.
the logo is a privately registered trademark and its owners have the right to restrict its use.
I thought it implied they were endorsing him as a candidate...NO WAY!
