Worried about Clinton, Biden Backer mulls another push for VP
Fox News ^ | 2/5/2015 | Ed Henry

Panic among some Democrats about Hillary Clinton running into trouble with Bernie Sanders is spreading so rapidly that the idea of drafting Vice President Joe Biden is popping up yet again.

Fox News has learned that a prominent backer of the "Draft Biden 2016" movement, Tulsa businessman Bill Bartmann, fired off an email Friday afternoon to several dozen Democratic allies musing about the possibility of reviving the push for Biden.

"I would urge all of you to join me in 'keeping our powder dry' until we see if for the good of the party and the country, we should resurrect (sic) the Draft Biden movement," Bartmann wrote to fellow Democrats who had been involved in trying to draft Biden last year.

"We cannot afford to lose the White House."

In his email, Bartmann specifically cited as an impetus for his concern a new national poll showing a steep dive for Clinton, who just barely beat Sanders in Iowa and now trails him by double digits here in New Hampshire...

Bartmann is the founder and CEO of CFS2, Inc., a consumer financial recovery company. He originally contributed to the Ready for Hillary PAC and then soured on Clinton, urging Biden to run.

"Instead of being Ready for Hillary, we're waiting for Joe," Bartmann told The Wall Street Journal back in October.

On Friday, Bartmann did not return a call and email seeking comment from Fox about his email.

That’s their “better” option?

They’re in BAD shape.

Go ahead, draft Biden, see if you can piss off the old communist Sanders enough to get him to run third party.

Hillary does appear to be toast. I think her belief in her own invincibility is the only thing she has going for her.

Hillary is counting on the black vote to save her in SC.

I’m starting to think Bernie can get enough to knock her off.

Drafting Biden to stop Bernie would fracture the party.

IMO, Biden will be a formidable candidate. Much harder to beat than HRC or the old commie.

Biden and Trump both want to avoid 10 wars that Clinton & Rubio want to start.

Biden doesn’t come across as evil or totally disgusting like Clinton

Maybe the Dem Establishment says it’s time to send out those Hawaian photos with a Bernie and Ginger White and Sydney Leathers having ‘lunch’.

How would Biden be able to just jump in now. Wouldn’t he still have to win enough states to get the nomination?

Exactly right ..Biden would make it much harder for Trump to win the rust-belt states ... they have sold Biden as being for the blue collar working class, although nothing could be further from the truth

Biden will select the Squaw (Lizzie Warren) as his running mate. That will blunt Comrade Sanders and appease his millennial army.

I assume (but haven’t been able to verify) that the delegates are only pledged for the first round of voting at the convention.

So if no one goes into the convention with a majority, the first vote gives no one the nomination.

Then it’s open to vote for anyone.

Also, the Democrats have about 15% of the total delegates who are unelected “superdelegates.” They can vote for whomever they want on the first vote as well.

Can’t blame the guy for this. Forget Bernie, she is dreadful. She makes Mitt Romney look like Cary Grant. She’s crooked as hell to boot and that’s pretty clear to everyone now. She may not get indicted but, as they say the ads write themselves. Would you really want that crooked, shrill, charmless, fake, phony, fraud of a dame as your standard bearer?

“Hillary is counting on the black vote to save her in SC. I’m starting to think Bernie can get enough to knock her off.”

I thought I heard a little snippet on the radio today that the former heard of the NAACP, Ben Jealous (yes that’s his name if anyone never heard of him) endorsed Bernie.

But I don’t know why you’d announce that now while all the focus is on super Whitelandia (as Ron Kuby and I like to say) New Hampshire.

Why wouldn’t you save that one up until right before SC? Make a big thing of it. And I think Jealous is from the South, maybe not SC, but somewhere in Dixie.

You can tell I’m pulling for Bernie, as much as I hated Hillary before, I hate her more now.

“Biden will be a formidable candidate.”

Totally agree with you, 100%. Maybe we better lay off hold Hill for a while. We DO NOT want to run against Biden. People say he’s stupid, but the presidential election ain’t jeopardy, it’s a little more nuanced than that.

Biden's as crazy as a shithouse rat. Each one of them are psychotic in singular-but-overlapping areas. How anyone of nominal intelligence and cognitive abilities could think of any of these three as 'what's best for the country' just shows how degenerative this culture has become.

“Wouldn’t [Biden] still have to win enough states to get the nomination?”

I saw this question elsewhere and I don’t know the answer. It may be too late for him to get on the ballot for primaries, but I’m pretty sure he could still be nominated at the convention and run in the general election.

Don’t forget, when you vote for the president you don’t really vote for George Bush or Al Gore you vote for “the electors for GB or AG”, so I don’t think it’s even a question of a person actually getting on the ballot for president.

But maybe someone else can fill us in more.

That's great news!

I'm pulling for Bernie too.

He may be a socialist, but he's an ineffectual one like Allende. Hillary is Stalin.
