Jerusalem is bracing for a series of Palestinian statehood initiatives in various international forums, including resolutions at the United Nations Security Council, Israel's ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said Thursday.
"The Palestinians are increasing their involvement and activity in the international arena in a bid to internationalize the conflict," he told The Times of Israel.
There are several initiatives calling for the creation of a Palestinian state circulating among UN diplomats, and while they recently received less exposure due to the world's focus on fighting the Islamic State terror group, these resolutions are anything but forgotten, he indicated. ...

Fine, please let them be a State. Then next terror attack declare war and destroy them. Hiding behind the UN’s skirts as an “Occupation” is beyond stale. How is it that they are occupied when Jews are not even allowed in Gaza for years now!?

Easy Jerusalem will only be a State for one day. Within 24 hours it will just be Jerusalem. The Muslims can no more forgo terrorism for a day than they can forgo breathing.
Accountability would be fatal for the Palestinians. They only exist because Israel respects UN laws on occupied territories.
Stop the Occupation by giving them a State, then nuke them next war crime.
It is legal, and more moral than letting them kill your citizens with impunity.

However, given the alternatives I think there may be some value in it.
Here's how I see it playing out: w/i 6 mons. of independence the Pali state launches an all out missile attack on Israel, where upon Israel pulverizes the Palis and ends the debate forever.
Well, ya know, if any group of people have demonstrated that they are capable of self-governance, have shown a marked tendency towards non-violence and non-belligerence, have schools, hospitals, and a transportation network, it’s those gentle Palestinians.
