Was this person a white guy??

Good question.

She doesn't identify the race of this man which is interesting because Melissa Harris-Perry is all about race.

If I had to guess, either this incident didn't happen or she is exaggerating or the guy was black.

Attention whore. Sheesh. Sounds like an elementary schooler telling whoppers for attention.

This is a story about how a liberal overreacts when someone questions their authority, and how the liberal wants to criminalize the speech of those who don’t kowtow.

It is mainly composed of imputed motives, imaginary acts, and harsh characterizations.

Once someone, especially a so-called professional journalist, shows me they don’t understand subjective from objective and the use of said with prepositions (and TWICE in one prepositional phrase), I quit listening to them. They have nothing else to say to me. They have discredited any content they think they have to relay. If you don’t know that, I can fairly assume you don’t know the what you’re talking about. If you didn’t listen in school, you’re a dunce. Yet you think your OPINION matters? Everybody makes mistakes, yes. You may actually KNOW the rules-—but you can’t THINK fast enough to get it right when speaking in conversation? We can accept colloquialisms and many non-standard English language quirks-—I have no problem with them, they often are just part of colorful speech-—but not a foundational concept like subjective/objective pronouns.

In 1985, the National Council of Teachers of English declared ...

Sounds like a group of academics who like to theorize about what is effective in teaching but never actually teaches anything or bothers to see if anybody is actually learning anything. That's the kind of education philosophy that leads to journalism schools turning out reporters and editors with writing and grammar skills of pre-teen text messaging.

Those aren’t earrings, they’re pop valves.

When the air pressure in her head gets too high they pop out to keep her head from exploding.

Best English rule ever: Always name the other person first (before yourself).

Much less likely to switch subjective/objective.

Yeah, you still hear “Him and I went to the store,” but it’s easy for anyone in authority (teacher, parent, friend) to point out how ridiculous and ignorant it sounds.

If anyone cares . . .

You can bet, or I will, that the guy was black because if he was white, she most certainly would have mentioned it. . .if only to advance the angry white-male narrative. . .strong, successful black females are a threat to white males and those bigots naturally react violently, ya’know.
