NEARLY 20 schools have been evacuated or placed in lockdown after
another wave of suspicious phone calls threatening shootings and bombings.
The scare comes after hundreds of students were on Friday evacuated from schools across Victoria and New South Wales, and a kindergarten, in a chilling bomb hoax.
Several schools in Queensland have received similar threats today.

So far, they seem to be hoaxes but they have to be taken seriously. And if anybody is planning anything, by observing the schools they are working out where students get evacuated to, which is a concern in itself.
Just the acts alone are causing significant disruption and a drain on police and other emergency resources.
Hoaxes are not that uncommon - but these repeated, mass threats are something new for us.
As a teacher, I'm not particularly worried - odds are that nothing is really going to happen - but I still have to be alert just in case and that is starting to get on my nerves already.
Everything I have heard say kids are mostly taking it in their stride.

Maranatha!
I thought these things don’t happen in other countries.
This has been happening lately across the US. Very disturbing.

The objective of terrorism is to disrupt life and force your attention onto the terrorist agenda. Since life in general and infidel life in particular means nothing to them, if they had bombs they would simply set them off to kill as many as possible. Since they do not have bombs they will disrupt using the telephone. It is hard to believe that the police are unable to track down the calls. Here the police can tell where a call was made from and what phone made it.
Disarm the people or force them into gun-free zones.
Provide no security (or security theatre).
Blame the problem on “terrorism.”
Justify even more draconian, liberty stealing laws.
