FLASHBACK - (2014) 'Vote-Shaming': An Effective Leftist Strategy
American Thinker ^ | October 30, 2014 | Sally Zelikovsky

While campaigns nationwide are hysterically ramping up their “get out the vote” (GOTV) efforts, Democrats are banking on a strategy that worked for them in 2012, hoping it will give them an edge and allow them to eke out some victories. Democrats in North Carolina are mailing a variety of letters to voters designed to get them to the polls – a “voter-shaming” tactic, as described by Rush Limbaugh. One type of letter is a personalized report card about the recipient’s voting history, which is then compared to the voting histories of others in his/her neighborhood or community

The answer to that is candidate shaming at the poles by the voters. ;-)

A candidate who sends these out thinks his voters are morons and it will work on some of their sheeple

FWIW, I don't think everyone knows about that Cruz campaign mailer. Disgust just EXPLODED overnight.

Thanks for the comparison you made. That mailer from Cruz is as low-end sleazy as it gets.

Supposedly conservative candidates use liberal tactics then sit around scratching their heads wondering why so many voters think they're liberals.

'Shaming' and other such arrogant finger-wagging is only done by those who think they know how to use your rights better than you do.

However, it is important for local Republican candidates to know this, particularly for knowledge of their communities and understanding what the other side is doing.

This is like the Gestapo sending out letters saying we know who you are, who your neighbors are and who you have been talking to and if you don’t come out and vote for the Fuhrer we will know about it

If you don’t think the country is full of morons, how do you explain 2 Obama victories and the GOP selecting McCain and Romney in their primaries?

I’m sure this tactic works on morons but it just goes to show what a campaign thinks of their voters to send it out in the first place

Cruz has many wonderful qualities but I have noticed he makes the mistakes a young, inexperienced man would make. He does not think things through or anticipate the possible consequences of his actions.

Cruz is too young to realize that a lot of law abiding elderly folks will be genuinely alarmed and anxious because of his official looking mailer with the word “violation” and a warning of follow-up action.

As a Christian, Cruz would not want to cause this type of suffering but he is too lacking in life experience to understand what he is doing.

I anticipate Cruz will ask for forgiveness when he realizes how he inadvertently made others suffer, and more importantly it will be a valuable lesson for him in living his faith.

The way I see it, there are 2 basic problems with elections....

1 - morons vote.

2- their vote counts as much as mine.

Shameful is the word for all those Trump people who refuse to hear the truth about him. Anyone who read the mailer and doesn’t reconsider their support for him is just totally, shamefully blind to the truth.

Yes, it was disgusting to see presented in one little flyer just how sleazy Trump is.

Why is it sleazy to tell the truth? Why is it not sleazy to do the things it shows Trump did? Is your post part of an effort to deflect attention away from Trump’s background by trying to ridicule anyone who is critical of him? Did you read the information or just refuse to because you don’t want your beliefs challenged?

BTW, don’t bother trying to answer that last question, I already know the answer.
