The Extraordinary Ted Cruz
am thinker ^ | 1/29/16 | js crouse

The social, cultural, and political chaos of the U.S. after 7 years of the Obama administration make Election 2016 a critical, historic election. Only one candidate has the credentials and character necessary to deal with the elites’ hostility to conservative principles. We desperately need a leader who is up to the task of confronting the liberals and progressives in much of the government (especially the lawless Federal judiciary and Justice Department), the major corporations, and the news and entertainment media who have worked overtime to shield the likes of Hillary “what difference at this point does it make” Clinton and Barack “I’ve got a pen” Obama.

Today, if we are to once again prosper, our nation must have tough, principled leadership with the skills to unapologetically and effectively defend historic American values against the drumbeat of politically-correct nonsense in the public square and the onslaught of outlandish government policies mixed with corruption and cronyism. The anger and revolt of Main Street Americans this election season shows that we’ve had enough of empty rhetoric, political spin, lies, and incompetence; we might not survive another failed presidency. But anger is not enough to produce change; it is not a strategy for fixing our problems. The next president must have abundant courage and competence to face the thorny issues requiring a steady determination, firm goals, and principled leadership.

Unlike so many previously promising GOP leaders who have wilted in the face of media attacks, Ted Cruz has remained unbending while facing a flood of media hostility, as well as hostility from the establishment Republicans and inside-the-Beltway conservative elites.

Unlike Obama, he believes in this country.

He’s the leader we need. An opportunity that doesn’t come along that often.

Ted is a solid conservative but a sure loser in the general election. IMHO.

The opportunity is there. If we opt instead for another shiny object then we get what we deserve.

The perfect candidate would combine; trumps fire and wealth, cruzes knowledge and love of our constitution and America, and Rubio’s looks.

DT embodies all the reasons the world resents America. Cruz represents the law and order and disciplined soul that the world has wanted and why they used to migrate for the right reasons.

Sounds like Sarah Palin, eh?

Just for the record, IMHO, not that anyone cares a flip about what I think, I find Ted Cruz attractive. Very much so. He’s already getting my vote for a number of other highly important reasons, not because of his attractiveness, but just for the record, I wanted to say that I find him attractive. Period.

If this country would choose Hillary Clinton over Ted Cruz, then there is no political answer to our problems as things stand.

His head to head numbers are pretty good. He would have to really develop his campaign skills to improve on them though. He doesn’t have the warm and fuzzy needed in a general election. Neither does Clinton, but the media can fake it.

If this missive were the sum total of Cruz's resume then he might have a chance in the general. However, the author is the chairwoman of The Institute on Religion & Democracy, so she brings a perspective that is somewhat short on governance.

Although very well written, she only deals with Cruz's objection to the Omnibus Spending bill as an example of his anti-corruption and anti-'empty rhetoric'. She completely ignores any controversy, of which gets detailed in this forum ad nauseam .

In short, this is not analysis of any sort, rather it is a straight endorsement. Nothing wrong with that in any way but surely she is preaching to the 'Religion & Democracy' choir.

So do I, in more ways than one. Very attractive in his commitment to his Faith first, Family Second, and the Constitution of the United States third. Only a real man could say that and Cruz is that real man.

HE is the one we have been waiting for as President.

He has proven he will keep his word. He is also the best match for my beliefs I have ever seen.
I have never fallen for Uniparty/media meme he can’t win - that is out there because they hate Ted because Ted has proven he is with and for us.

Amen!

If the US voters choose Hillary or Bernie, then all is lost anyway.

We might as well move to Sweden or North Korea and get it over with. The One World Order has begun but we missed it.

If GOP voters choose Trump over Ted, then the GOP is over as well. We chose PT Barnum over the Establishment and a decent man!

"Bring in the Clowns" and "Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride!"

When Obama was first on the stage, the media shielded the public from his real agenda; with Trump, his real agenda is there to see for all rational people to find enough to see he's nothing more than a TV Reality Show Character, and the people chose him!

"There's one born every minute!"

To quote the great philosopher, Pogo, " We have met the enemy and he is us!"

Agree totally. All this talk about him having a bad debate? Not what I saw, although I did miss the first few minutes. But after that, moderators seemed to avoid him a lot, but when he given opportunity speak, I thought he did extremely well. Maybe I’m biased, but I’d say he had a good night, even if on the defensive. ... a serious Man...for serious times.

I’m going to admit this to you (and a hundred thousand others haha) but aside from his horrible personality and views I can’t STAND Trump’s tiny little lips and the big white makeup circles around his beady eyes. ewwww. This would have zero impact on my vote, I just don’t like those things. LOL
