Senators Rand Paul and Marco Rubio joined forces Thursday night to accuse their colleague, Ted Cruz, of being willing to "do or say anything" out of political expediency.
"This is the lie Ted's campaign is built on, and Rand touched upon it," Rubio said during the debate. "That he is the most conservative guy and everybody else is a RINO. The truth is, Ted, throughout this campaign, you've been willing to do or say anything in order to get votes."
Rubio and Paul argued that Cruz has been inconsistent in his approach to immigration reform. Cruz, who put forth an amendment to the immigration reform bill Rubio helped author in 2013, insists that it was designed as a "poison pill" to kill the bill, though at the time Cruz indicated he wanted the overall measure to pass.
"What is particularly insulting...is he is the king of saying, 'You're for amnesty, everybody's for amnesty, except for Ted Cruz," Paul said. "That's an authenticity problem. Everybody he knows is not as perfect as him, we're all for amnesty," Paul said sardonically.
Rubio added that Cruz "helped design George W. Bush's immigration policy."
"Now, you want to trump Trump on immigration," Rubio said, arguing that the approach is out of step with Cruz’s past record on the issue. "We are not going to beat Hillary Clinton with someone who’s willing to say or do anything to win an election."
Cruz pushed back, noting that the strongest immigration hardliners backed his approach in the Senate before getting in a dig at Rubio.
"I like Marco," Cruz said. "He's very charming, he's very smooth."
Both he and Rubio ran for office opposed to "amnesty," Cruz continued, before adding: "Marco made the choice to go in the direction of the major donors to support amnesty because he thought it was politically advantageous. I honored my commitments."

Yup. Trump chickened out because he knew he was going to get grilled by Kelly.

Even Jeb went after Marco, and surprisingly effectively. He knows Marco is blocking his mirage of a Rino miracle. And he was smart enough to not take on Christie.

He clearly had the best night... best week... best month.. etc.
Boycott Fox Rupert the Morlock Murdoch wants open borders, cheap labor, unemployed Americans without HS diplomas because Mexican’s took their jobs, unlimited H1b for cheap Stem workers from abroad to take educated Americans jobs working at 60% of what Americans would get paid for the same job.
And Murdoch wants us Conservatives to watch his so called Conservative network and convince us this is good for America. How do we survive with low paying or no jobs doing it Murdoch’s way

It didn’t work, though. Cruz did a great job of explaining that.

That choice of “smooth” was brilliant on Ted’s part. It subtly says Marco is slick. Which is true.
I can’t help but laugh that you Trumpsters think the race is over before a single vote has been cast.
No because we’re against touch back amnesty.

And frankly, a lot of the supporters are no better. Support anyone other than someone's preferred candidate, and you're somehow not a conservative. It's become a joke.
Well, I'm getting old enough that I might be able to go with a "pox on all their houses". Might as well at least get a laugh out of everyone pointing fingers at each other wondering why a Democrat won yet again.
