Fans of the Gloved One want the white actor cast to play Michael Jackson in a new British TV movie to "Beat It."
"Because we aren't whitewashed enough in Hollywood, apparently," read a tweet posted on BET's Twitter page on Wednesday.
"They seriously couldn't find a black actor to play Michael Jackson?," tweeted DeRay Mckesson, an American civil rights activist and leader in the "Black Lives Matter" movement.
Imani Gandy wrote, "They cast a white guy to play Michael Jackson. I think we can admit that this whole 'planet earth' thing isn't working out."

I find this funny. However, it will be a challenging role for him. He seems to be a good actor. I am just not sure I would take the role if I were in Hollywood. How is he going to play with those kids? That is too gross even for a possible Academy Award character.

I want a white Southerner to portray MLK Jr. and a Vietnamese guy to play Malcolm X. While we’re at it I’d also like to have Lindsay Lohan play Ella Fitzgerald.

Reminds me of the time I heard Michael Jackson was gonna portray Edgar Allen Poe. After about a half hour, I was like “Hey...isn’t Michael Jackson black?”
