Evangelicals won’t be talking about anything if we don’t win this election. Cruz can’t win, no matter how many times he talks about his faith or about God.

Daniel 2:

Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said:

“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.

21 He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.

Doesn’t look like much:
Evangelical leader blasts Falwell for hosting Trump:

Russell Moore, who heads the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the public policy arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, let fly a series of tweets after Falwell gave a glowing introduction to Trump....

Wow!
Just when I was commenting on the thread where Ted got help from House Representatives, that the race was getting good.

More popcorn!

(I wish they’ll mend fences later.. both are fighters, we need them)

and developed a rapport with Trump.

------------

I know a lot of Cruz fans harp on ideological purity but being able to rapport with people is just as important for a politician. Cruz needs to work on his people skills.

As stated before:

Unless you have a working magic 8 ball, your argument is nonsensical.

By the way, the same exact argument was said of Ronald Reagan. “He’s too conservative to win...”

Hogwash!!!

Since when are we ashamed of being conservatives? Since when do we, as conservatives have to give up on our principles for the sake of winning? Or should I say, since when has that worked?

Romney, McCain, Dole... All of these progressive candidates were “electable”.

That is just an old GOPe tactic which flat out does not result in anything factual.

Cruz is certainly electable: he was elected to the US Senate, and he will be elected as our nominee, and then the next President.

I think Cruz can win, but I think Trump can win more easily.

On the campaign trail in Iowa, he now begins rallies with a prayer. In Sioux City, the prayer was offered by Dallas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress. And on Sunday, he attended a Presbyterian service where he met with churchgoers and posed for pictures.

I am a Trump supporter, however I do see some of the things he's doing as pandering for votes. On the bright side, I'm glad for once a politician is pandering to the people instead of lobbyists and big business.

I would guess little influence in Iowa. The preponderance of Iowa evangelicals are already supporting Cruz with a some still supporting Carson and Huckabee.

The Evangelical importance in Iowa is overstated. It happened during the last two cycles in the absence of Terry Branstad, who had stepped away from politics and left the Iowa GOP establishment foundering.

Branstad and his establishment are back for this cycle. Branstad favorite Chris Christie might get a boost from Iowa by ‘outperforming expectations’.

Well, maybe Trump gave a HUGE donation to Liberty...

We know he likes paying off politicians (bribing them) so maybe he does the same here as well?

Prove otherwise.

Good for Junior. He supports a bragging adulterer, who in the same breath,proudly claims he has never found a reason to ask God for forgiveness for his sins.

Jerry Senior preached many times supporting the Ten Commandments, God's many times condemning sexual sins like adultery, fornication and homosexuality, then reminds believers those who continuing in their sin, will not inherit God's favor, heaven.

I don't know why but I smell a quid pro quo here!

Reagan was a multiple married, Hollywood, former democrat, union leader from California. Lot’s of people questioned his credentials. But he won.

I know it’s a surprise, but I read a report that says Trump attends his Presbyterian church weekly (when in town.)
