Send the illegals home and prevent more, repeal Obamacare, make medicaid what it was meant to be, problems solved. That’s what I hear from Trump. I hear roughly the same from Cruise. This isn’t turning anyone away from Trump, just getting the Cruise fans worked up.

“Trump has changed, he's had an epiphany, read what he wrote” (but not before 2013, it starts getting hazy then). They “know” with every “fiber of their being” that he'll do what he says and make “America Great” again... Never mind the constitution or any guiding principles so long as he's destroying the establishment...

There's no debating any of the above, there is no argument that can persuade no matter how factual or detailed.

So I surrender. My time needs to be applied to more fruitful endeavors.

And the reason nothing could change the minds of any Trump supporter vs a Cruz supporter is

Cruz has supporters

Trump has followers

The enemy is really stepping up his deceptions. Last it was a Kenyan/democrat that lied and the masses elected him. Now it’s a “republican” lying about who he is and the people are deceived.

Pray the scales fall off the eyes of the people of this nation.

We Trump supporters have said that from the beginning, but since Cruz has decided to “go gutter”, it is all okay. Just politics.

LOL

Good information. I can do without the name calling by the candidates (and their supporters), but I do want details on where they stand.

We’ve had too many unpleasant surprises in the past to trust general platitudes.

Nope. Cruz’s supporters left him after he campaigned for Barack Obama’s legacy trade agenda while being knee deep in Goldman Sachs cash. What’s left in the Cruz camp are his true believers willing to ignore every flaw in the man and his Senate record. No one ever said Trump was perfect. OTOH, Senator Principled Conservative (TM) is often described as the perfect conservative.

Really, the problem is you people going off half-cocked and assigning whole health care plans because a guy used one particular word you don’t like.

You guys did the same thing with his tax plan, screaming about how he was going to raise taxes on the rich blah blah blah, and then he released the REAL tax plan and you guys were all wrong. And yet, some of you still parrot the same bullcrap charges to this very day.

What he was doing there was using the rhetoric of the Democrats to sell a conservative tax plan.

Could he be doing the same thing here? Heavens no! That would be ridiculous!

It’s far more likely that he’s some kind of ideological maniac who wants to cram leftism down everyone’s throat, because a bunch of you dupes would rather have someone blow smoke up your ass with fake promises than have anyone actually accomplish anything.

I just explained to you what his program is. If you want to claim that’s single payer, go ahead.

Dear God, please at least READ my responses. As I have said TWICE now, I didn't say what he is now proposing is single-payer (although it appears what he is proposing will be much more expensive than Obamacare); I said he has always said he would prefer a single-payer system, and that he has never retracted that. He just doesn't think a single payer system is workable here for now.

I tell you this will blow up the number of providers and you are still lost in the single payer zone.

Really? Did you read his comment about "making deals with the hospitals"??? One of the reasons so few doctors now will take Medicaid and Obamacare patients is because of the "deals" the government has made that results in them getting paid less than it costs to operate. And Trump is going EXPAND those government deals with the hospitals, and you think that is going to INCREASE the number of providers??? That really is the triumph of hope over experience.

you don't know Trump has publicly rejected Single Payer.

Provide a single public source for that statement. I cannot find one.

The problem for you, I did read your post.

Let’s talk about one of the gems I picked up.

In this post you state that unrestrained marketplace competition will drive up health care costs higher than Obamacare.

Pick another topic you know something about.

As I said before, your reading comprehension is lacking. I said his proposal would cost more than Obamacare, and most people who have looked at it agree. That is because based on his statements, he plans to cover at government expense a lot more people than are even being covered under Obamacare.

I also pointed out that the government "making deals" with the hospitals will result is a lot fewer accepting patients that are covered by any of the plans for which the government is making the "deal", as has been the case with Medicaid.

Have you heard of Medicaid? Never mind, the answer is no.

The government can’t cover more than it is today, because every indigent has been covered since the 70s.

If you don’t have funds, the government signs you up for Medicaid and you get your health care on the government dollar. You evidently didn’t know that.

Secondly, the idea Trump is going to bankrupt hospitals to get people covered just adds another layer of insanity to this issue. They’re already covered so hospitals won’t have to do anything they aren’t already doing.

Trump was wrong. He’ll learn. Big deal.

When insurance rates drop under unleashed free enterprise, fewer people will need Medicaid. More people will be working under Trump. Even fewer people will need Medicaid.

You can expect to see the uninsured rolls reduce significantly under Trump.

He got it right in several ways that mean his well intentioned, but wrong comments will be more than compensated for by his solid plans.

Actually, that is not true. Why do you think a big part of Obamacare was trying to get the states to expand Medicaid coverage??? Why would they need to expand coverage if everyone was already covered??

When insurance rates drop under unleashed free enterprise, fewer people will need Medicaid. More people will be working under Trump. Even fewer people will need Medicaid.

You are making a lot of assumptions, and that is your right. But you'll have to excuse me if I choose not to have your blind faith in an unproven candidate.

That talk was the Left trying to justify socialized medicine.

I have no idea why you seem to think Capitalist Free Enterprise is a failed concept.

What does competition do? Come on, you know...

Really? I’m about to find out as I was informed that as one without income currently, I do qualify for medicaid. If I am to be denied and cannot afford barrycare, what are my options?

I’ve been more than ok with paying as I go - I’ve been fortunate to have doctors who work with me on that.

Furthermore, after exploring barrycare, I could neither afford it nor am I eligible for any subsidies. It’s a train wreck.
