Yeah, Thomas Sowell is just a do-nothing RINO bum! As is anyone who questions Donald (PBUH).

This is exactly how I feel. In all the thousands of pro-Trump comments here on FR and elsewhere, and all the articles I’ve read, I read in vain for a coherent explanation of why anyone should vote for Trump. Like Dr. Sowell says, if anyone could give their reasons it should be someone like Palin, but as someone helpfully posted her speech above, there’s nothing there.

It’s all emotion, no reason. Nothing rebutting the evidence presented showing that Trump has an anti-conservative worldview and has demonstrated such with his actions all through his life. Nothing laying out a persuasive case on why a President Trump would be good for America from a conservative perspective. I invite FReepers who support him to make this case, if they think they can (I am very skeptical.)

Because he’s not conservative. He’s a crony capitalist populist.

as someone helpfully posted her speech above

The speech above appears to be from 2011 (three years after she was chosen to run for V.P.). It's possible that she said something more detailed (and relevant) earlier this week.

It was from her Labor Day speech, not her recent speech

The poster must have searched for “Sarah Palin Iowa Speech,” or something similar, but not checked the details.

I disagree, I heard the speech(es).

She gave a lot of good reasons, he just didn't want to acknowledge them. I rarely disagree with the Doc, but in this case I do:

1. His ability in the private sector is sorely needed in this political swamp we have. He knows how to get things done, like balancing budgets and keep the important central issues going.

2. He isn't beholden to the normal pac money people, will owe them nothing. Which will allow a wall to be built, and illegals to stop coming and destroying the fabric of our nation.

3. He has demonstrated the ability to win against the current media slime machine.

4. Without Trump, most of the issues that are important to the electorate wouldn't even be in the debate, much less at the forefront.

5. America is at a tipping point, one that needs forceful blow back.

6. He's the only one that can go over the heads of the media to force the REPUBLICAN congress to oppose the democrats.

7. He's the only one who has stood firm on muzzie immigration and will KICK ISIS ASS (one of her best lines).

Is that enough for you?

Unless we return this country to the Constitution, we will lose it. That’s the fight for existence we’re currently engaged in.

There are many comments on the order of, “He is horrible because he disagrees with me.”

That is a feature, not a bug in the current conversation.

btw,

The word of the day is ludicrous.

So foolish, unreasonable, or out of place as to be amusing; ridiculous.

The more Donald Trump speaks, the more ludicrous he is shown to be.

Have a Guinness! You have offered an argument rather than simply emoting.

I think your points #2, #3, and #4 are the strongest.

I thought the word of the day was bumptious. Not that I mind having two words: it is a school day, after all.

Correct, which means it was not her recent speech in where she endorsed Donald Trump

May I have a glass of good wine instead? :-)

Alas, it's too early for that, maybe tonight.

And those were her arguments. I think she had a few more.

Btw, I love Dr Sowell, I just think he didn't do his normal in depth thinking for this one.
