Well, the whole bunch are aging hippies. That “was” their life, their single reason and their high point in life.
Saw a video of an old folk singers group on stage in Boston. At the finale, everybody gathered on stage for the tribute (I believe to “Mary” of Peter Paul and Mary) ... Kerry was right in the middle of the celebration. In the middle of “his people” waving and singing right along.
Yeah.
Kerry wasn’t negotiating “against” Vietnam that summer in Paris. He was negotiating “with” North Vietnam against the US and South Vietnam. And hasn’t changed a bit.

Allusion to grass, aka marijuana, imo.

Not to beat it to death, but a S&G reunion in any venue would sell out in 15 minutes. And not just balding paunchy dead-heads. S&G to me is a very 60s New York sound — literate and witty and smart, before NYC became a playpen for the super-rich and a hellhole for everybody else. It takes me back to an East side childhood of my own, in a time not exactly innocent but certainly exciting and full of possibilities and wonder without being coarse and menacing.

Elton John is selling out everywhere in 15 minutes, even though his voice is shot. Paul Simon is now 74, close to bernie's age. To me, Simon and Garfunkel reminds me of all those people who pushed contemporary music in the '60s, and can't give it up 50 years later, leaving entire congregations stuck with "Let There Be Peace on Earth". But I guess that's just me.

You won't find it in North Korea or Cuba.
