Instead of saying “ocean bed”, it’s now “land beneath the ocean”?

I did call the journalist idiotic (not “an idiot”), for saying that the ocean floor sank, when the recorded depth of water got shallower. Try to visualize the situation.

What is hard to understand is why you decided to weigh in with a lot of tripe about “tidal waves” and rogue waves. I understand what you said; it’s just irrelevant.

"Run Forest, run!"

Seriously though, who hasn't been to the beach, in the water, and caught by a wave that surprised the heck out of you with it's weight and strength. I've had my feet knocked out from under me by 2 foot waves. Throw in the receding/opposing water coming back from the shore, and sand washing out from under your feet...you've got some power there. I'd just as soon not be on the beach when a tsunami comes rolling in.

Thanks, but I will stick with the scientific side of life on this stuff. It makes much more sense.

What part of my last post mentioned rogue waves?

Quit being a prick.

The wave I got caught in was something.

I saw it 400 feet away, I ran a good 500 feet, jumped onto a 3’ to 6’ diameter drift log then waited as the water went up the beach another 200’ to 300’.

It was at low tide on a very shallow beach. The one wave travelled more than 1,000’ up the beach than all of the other waves.

As I stated prior, the two ladies to the south were scooped up and drowned.

The Greek word is seismos. Strong’s Dictionary reference number 4578.

Well that jibes well and with the “shaking” the Bible speaks of...

Glad you escaped the JW’s!

The data still says Matthew 24 is right on point though.

>>>Idiotic journalist. If the ocean depth is decreasing, the seafloor is rising, not sinking.

Uhhhh...no. What's going on here is YOU do not understand what's happening. The entire column decreased and it takes a while for the ocean to return to hydrostatic equilibrium.

Yes...journalists are by and large idiots...but in this case...the idiotic journalist knows more about this than you do.

The communists also claimed to be “scientific”. Just keep that in mind. There is a lot of pseudoscience out there. Real science and the Bible never conflict.

And then we pounded several times with the '8985' foot number instead of rounding it to 9000 feet yet further on we're told the tsunami will be 15 meters high, which is 45 feet. Which it isn't, 15 meters is a little better than 49 feet. Annoying.

Huh??? If the water column “shrunk by 4 inches”, the distance between the surface of the water and the sea bottom, on average, grew less... not more!

The statement “The earth sunk;” is inverted; the sea floor rose.

In any event, get your hip waders out!

A 4” rise (or drop) of the ocean floor covering a few hundred square miles is a tremendous, potential, force.

How can the ocean floor rise (or drop) that much without registering as a major earthquake? It should have registered as a major quake. I check the USGS site daily, and don't remember such a recent quake.

That article scared the shite right out of me. A four foot drop? For every action, there is a equal but opposite action.

I watch a story about tsunamis. One woman told a story that her grandmother told her. She said when the water goes way out, you will hear the boulders under the ocean start to rumble. If you hear that, run. Because when the boulders stop rolling out....the water is going to come back. And if you wait, you will never out run it.

I think the boulders might be rumbling (metaphorically speaking.)
